why do you say that? people are saying the shape of it matches it and the head guard is the exact same... as the 6.5

can you just balance the racquet on something else? Like either a tennis racquet handle or something thinner and rounder.

just take a picture of it where it pretty much balances and doesn't fall to one side.

we can guestimate with a picture like that.

do you understand what i'm saying? like... maybe a broom stick handle. lay the racquet flat on that....and move it up and down until it's pretty evenly balanced. make sure it's level.

thanks!

Wasn't the hyper staff 6.5 really light? Why hasn't anyone guessed it to be the hyper pro staff 5.0? That model was heavier, and maybe the euro version came in 18 by 20?

some members have stated that a euro "tour" version exists. His could always be a modified version of the original, but if such an edition exists, it could be that racquet.

I have a couple of 6.5s. Here are pics http://s166.photobucket.com/albums/u81/caesar66/
I dont know if these help for comparison's sake, but if anyone wants me to take some specific ones for comparison with the racquet in question I'm happy to, I'll probably take some of the bumper guard just to show that it matches up.

Hey Caesar66, Whats the Pro Kennex racket in the photos? Looks to have a dense stringing pattern, is it from the old micro range? I used to play with blacked out micro prototypes from Kennex about 17 years ago, got amazing spin off them!! Now the thinking seems to be that get more spin off less dense patterns, tho my experience with the incredible micro's makes me wonder if thats true, have never managed to get as much spin off anything since!!

That was indeed a micro mid! I recently sold that stick. To be honest, i bought it for a good price from someone who didn't know what they had and actually never hit with it lol. Interesting about the spin though, I figured it would be an exceptionally flat hit, its a 90" frame with a 22x30 pattern!

OMG 22x30 in a 90" frame?! is that legal? lolol

thanks for the comparisons caesar!

balance unstrung : 32.2 cm

so tennisfreakx, how long is the racquet? compare it next to one of your racquets! please balance your frame on a stick or something!!!

Same racquet painted as N Tour

You can find old images of Tsonga from 2003 on Getty Images using this same racquet, but painted as an N Tour. Same shape, and same string pattern as now. Therefore his racquet can't be anything very new. I can't find any reason not to believe it is a 6.5.

Don't know if the pic will work. Might need to hit reload, but might not work anyway.

ah that's the htour (hammer tour). gives the illusion that he has PWS.

EDIT. nevermind. it DOES have PWS, just like tsonga's current racquet. i'm blind

no, even the htour was a paintjob.

as people have said in this thread, it's almost certain that he is still using a hyper pro staff 6.5.

tennisfreakx, please please measure the length of the racquet. And lay the racquet on a a bar...like a broom stick handle... so that we can see approximately where the balance point is.

can you do that for us?

If i had the $$ I would buy that off you man, just so you would get some $$$ out of it. awesome pics and great guts you had to go get that racquet.

dude, as been mentioned in this thread, they're not the 5.0 or 5.1. they're the hyper pro staff 6.5s...

I was referring to the person who posted the pic as he owns one, and i am yet to try mine out.

I've read the thread and i know he doesn't use the 5.0/ Stretch.

racket is longer than 27 inches

I know we are lucky to have a member to get his racquet, but can we SERIOUSLY have someone who knows that they are doing.

You say its longer then 27 inches but dont bother to post the real length. You post every couple of days with little tidbits of information. Still havent posted the balance.

Its a freaking racquet not a research paper. Its been a week since you got the racquet.

If you're a kid and dont have transportation then I understand and apologize.

ouch...vince916 is mean...and you really think they would have let an older man go and pick up tsongas racquet...of course not..they would only let a cute little kid go and grab it...i wish i was young again

I found those 2 HPS Tour 95 on the bay and bought them to try them.

the interesting thing about them and also the same feature is on Tsonga's raquet, is that it is a 18x20 but the pattern is more open.

Notice how the strings form a more open and more distributed pattern, unlikely the standard 18x20 that has the strings more concentrated in the middle.

This having more string in the same area would give a tighter stringbed than the 16x18 version but less tîght than the standard 18x20.

The same as how the K90 has a more open stringbed than the n90 or HPS Tour while having the samme 16x19 pattern.

I am expecting to receive them next week so I could try them on. :)

These are not the best rackets Wilson made, far too light and unstable...but maybe you'll like them, the US version is better.

if i put this racket up on eastbay
would anybody buy it
if so, how much would u bid up to?

If you are 14, hang on to it. You got this souvenir and story to go with it through truly good fortune. Now it can only go up in value. 10 years later, Tsonga might have won 6 or 8 slams and been a No. 1 for a period of time. You will regret having sold it for a dime to some older shrewder guy who will have no trouble cheating you out of what it's really worth if you let it go so easily.
