What do you do with the racquets you don't really play with?

Most of us have more than 4 or 5 racquets.

But a lot of us, at least me, only use one racquet and keeps playing with it every time.

So what do you do with the rest of the racquets?

I have 7 racquets right now but I only play with my Pure Drive Rodick now. I kinda just let the remaining 7 racquets collecting dust.

i have about 8+ rackets
but i play mostly with my k and n90
sometimes use the ps85 but rarely

they usually collect dust... then get sold.

why not sell the extra ones you have to buy a few more of the one you currently use? i think you should have at least 2 of the same stick to rotate. i personally have 3 which is just about right (since i am not a string breaker).

I either sell the extra racquets, keep them as a collectible (if it's something like my Precision Mono or Prestige) or donate them to a local tennis club.

I rent them out $5 per day per racquet.

Just kidding.
The solution to this problem is to just trade them in or sell them before buying more of your choice stick. I only have 3 frames now and only use 2 of them. 80% of tennis players don't need more than two of the same racquets.

Any rackets other then my 2 current ones are either broken (schmall temper problem sometimes :p) or I give them to my club for others to use when they come from school and don't have their own or something.

I sold one of my older rackets to a pensioner that played on the court next to me because he loved the deep purple color, asked him what he used it for now and he said he had it touched up (chips filled in and painted over) and is hanging in his loungeroom, still with my old grip and strings, kinda creepy but still cool.

I usually auction/sell it off. One of my friends gives away some of his older racquets (not salable due to old age) to people he knows.

Is a pensioner a retired, older individual? Which racquet was it?

When I get really really REALLY mad I dont smash the racket I play with - I run to my bag with other rackets, grab one to smash.................and cool off before anything regrettable happens.

I used to keep 1 or 2 bad ones in my car -- the ones I really don't like -- and have 'em ready just in case any fight happens.

Otherwise they just lie there ... err ... where?

Use to sell off, but no more... I keep them all - the ones I don't play regularly decorate my office walls.

Currently have about 25 or so.... 3-4 of each frame.

Thats what I'd be doing if I had more money then I could spend on a house with a personal tennis court.

Though the only frame I regret selling off was my RQis1 and maybe k90

I don't break strings like crazy, so I usually use one racquet for a good 4~5 months. (Poly ftw :D) Although, I usually end up cracking that racquet before I break the strings. So the rest of the racquets just sit there, waiting for me to crack another one. But when I do break strings, I have another one strung up just in case.

I have 16 frames which have collected over time. By the end of the summer I want to thin out my collection. I had a recent bout of "racquet scizophrenia" where I changed a couple of times in succession, which didn't help matters.

I will:

(a) try to sell them,

(b) give to the local non-profit tennis academy, which is a summer program that gets low-income kids into tennis in my area, and

(c) keep 2 or 3 (other than my main frames, for a total of 5 or 6).
