Roger's gonna whip Rafa! Rainer is giving Rafa a tough set? Rainer? I hope none of you bet on Rafa because although he'll probably get to the final, he's gonna lose to Roger quite convincingly.

I really, really hope you're right Rickson. It would be so good for Roger if he could make it 6th in a row and shut up some of his annoying haters here. Many people here will be eating their big words if Roger wins this.

If Rafa plays like he's played in the second set of this semi then I think Fed in 4.

Trust me, Roger is a few levels above Rainer so you can bet Roger will shut down those doubters.

I bet Nadal will win more than 4 games in the final.

I personally don't care if Fed wins in 3,4 or 5 sets as long as he wins so all those Fed will retire, has no chance, will get crushed by Nadal people can eat their words. It's disrespectful to a 5 time champion to say that he doesn't have a chance to win Wimbledon.

I also believe Rickson is right. If Roger plays his game I don't think Rafa has a chance. Just like last year the serve will be the difference. Today he ONLY won 77% of 1st serve points - was in the mid/upper 80's in his previous matches.

I don´t know who said Fed doesn´t have a chance to win Wimbledon, maybe one or two posters? In that case yes, they can eat their words just like others ate their words earlier this season.
Talking of disrespectful, I think this thread is as disrepectful as you can get but why doesn´t it surprise me?

There was a thread stating that Fed doesn't stand a chance to win Wimbledon and another thread saying he'll lose before quarters, those were worse that this one IMO.And I've seen quite a few posters say how Nadal will destroy Federer in the final(althouh some of them are Sampras fans who are only fans of Nadal cause he beats Federer).I'm not saying Nadal isn't great but some minimum respect towards a 5 time Wimbledon champion is desirable.

Safin won more games off Federer than Schuettler did off Nadal. And I think you can say that Safin against Schuettler would have been a pretty even match the way they both played today.

Fed vs Safin 100 pts won to 83.
Nadal vs Schuettler 96 pts to 68.

Safin gave Fed a closer match than Schuettler gave Nadal. I don't see the point of this thread. Safin took Federer to a tiebreak too...

Rainer is not close to Roger's level, but he almost won the 2nd set. No jinxes necessary.

Dude, Nadal's a lot better than Soderling, so he's gonna eat Roger alive? that doesnt make sense either. Sunday's completely different, and DON"T ****ING JINX Roger! We'll see. It's 55-45 in Roger's favour for me. First set will be massive.

The scary thing is Nadal didn't even play well today. Nadal in this form will have a close match with Fed, but Nadal in prime form will brutally destroy Fed even on grass.

Whoa there, cowboy. Take it easy on the Rafa Kool Aid! Destroy? Huh? You're obviously taking way too much from the bad final in Paris. Which will have no relevance come Sunday (or Monday if it rains).

Nadal didn't play anything like what he played against Murray and when he knew he was playing badly today then he rectified this as he will do against Federer who's game he knows very well. As for Safin - please tell me what else he did other than serve today. I honestly thought Roger would lose - not because he couldn't equal Safin but because he was so bored!

exactly and that was with Safin barely returning a 2nd serve inside the court all match. And we know how much better Nadal returns 2nd serves.

Thanks Zaragoza! Those people are like hyenas waiting for the slightest opportunity to claw at Rafa and tear him apart. So Rafa won the second set 7-6, so what? Roger did too! And wasn't it Soderling that served for a set against Fed before choking or something similar? Maybe they could wait until the end of the final to start the gloating thread...

Everything you said here applies to those posters who attack Fed as well, you just don't notice it cause they're bashing Fed and not your favourite Nadal.Did you miss the thread that states Fed has no chance this Wimbledon? Or the one that predicts he'll lose before quarterfinal? Or the one that predicts that he'll retire after Wimbledon? Or dozens of posters saying that Nadal will destroy or butcher or whatever Federer in the Wimbledon final? Or that Federer is another Karlovic? Rickson's thread pales in comparison to all the venom that was directed to Fed in this forum before and during the Wimbledon.Try to look things objectively and see how many Fed bashing has been going on during this tournament.

Of course not and I for one will never bash Nadal as I'm actually beginning to like his game more and more(he's always adding new elements to his game and is becoming more agressive off ground,I rarely miss his matches now and record a good deal of them) and I always liked his personality. But I don't like when people act like the only who gets bashed around here is Nadal when there were a couple of very disrespectful threads towards Fed.If anything Fed was bashed more in this forum during Wimbledon than Nadal.

You are really banking on that because that man in your avatar will only be an afterthought maybe within the next year, if Nadal doesn't stop that from happening. :)

Sampras an afterthought? Give me a break. How old are you, 12? I guess Borg, Laver, Lendl, McnEnroe, Connors, Agassi etc are afterthoughts right now as well.

I don't know about the championship being in the bag for Roger. I didn't watch the Nadal-Rainer 2nd set but did watch the entire Safin-Federer match. To me, it was a rather low tempo, lazy match with Roger missing most of the shot he had to execute under pressure (e.g. on the run, passing shots). Also, Safin had good success at net; whereas Roger's net game was lackluster. Roger's serve was outstanding again but I felt that his baseline and net game weren't fully tuned up yet.

I predict a close final.

Honestly ( and without rancour) I nearly fell asleep and if it wasn't for the fact that RAfa was due on I would have !

Yea, because we all know that Rainer is as good a player as Marat. LOL.

Nadal had almost as "tough" a match against Rainer as Federer did against Marat.

Clearly, Federer had the better performance. You don't expect Federer to roll over Safin as comfortably as he did today, even at Wimbledon.

If Federer serves like he's been serving all tournament, it's going to be nearly impossible to break him. I mean, Hewitt's one of the best returners in the game, and he didn't break Fed. That's pretty impressive. So that puts a lot of pressure on Nadal to keep his own serve -- admittedly, he has improved there.

You can't judge Schuettler by his ranking. He hasn't been playing like a 94th ranked player this tournament just like Safin has been playing well this tournament. Before this he has been losing in the first round almost everywhere -.-
