Rafa's stylist fired

Well, I think whoever dresses Rafa should be fired. The outfit he has been wearing this year is just awful. I actually liked the "matador pants" and sleeveless shirts. Now, he looks like a "little boy" in his ice cream colored polo shirt and white shorts, with matching mint-green headband and wrist bands. This outfit is simply not intimidating and definitely not hot. Look at Verdasco's clothes - he looks like a real jock; Andy Roddick and Andy Murray always look tough in their monochromatic black and gray - and I even dig Roger's classic "Hamptons weekender" looks (couldn't quite stomach the sweater last Wimbledon though, he looked like he might light a pipe during changeovers). Is anybody with me here?

I wanted to post this topic after the Madrid final but was too embarassed to admit that I notice it. Thanks so much for having the courage to do so.

Yup, the outfit goes against the Nadal's Nike team of trying to reimage him as a mature and classy champion.

Nope. I think Andy Roddick dresses like Charlie Brown, wah, wah.

Nadal's outfit does look like ice cream colors, but it doesn't matter, he looks good in anything to me.

Fed wears some nice clothes when he sports regular tennis outfits, but the cardigans and man purses are a little too over the top for me.

Actually that would have been awesome. And Roddick should play in wifebeater.

Already gotten boring, I agree. He should play this RG in the pirate pants and then figure out something new.

Is that what he's wearing for the FO? Whoever at Nike is dressing him is a complete idiot. Pink and neons? It gets worse all the time. You might as well give him a proper 1989 Agassi mullet to match. In 5-6 years, he'll certainly look back on these photos with embarrassment.

I agree with the OP. Though I could care less how he dresses. I'm for how he plays. If he is in a slump, time to change outfits. lol

most of you all don't care about fashion on the tennis court so why does it bother you all. Not to mention most of you are clueless with this topic.
He looks really cool. I am glad he got away from the sleeveless stuff.
Get over it.

Getting rid of the sleeveless stuff is fine. Looking like you're an extra in a 1984 Wham or Duran Duran video isn't.

Verdasco's clothes are amazingly awful although his hair style manages to be even worse...

Ice cream is the only thing I want in the summer!
I love pink on Rafa. IMO pink and orange are the best colors on him, all subjective of course but I love bright colors with his tan (red too). I prefer them than the green he wore a lot in the past.
I know that pink is often stereotyped as being a feminine color but I'm not prejudiced so it doesn't bother me. (It probably should have been a brighter pink though)

Rafa's favorite color is pink so he would like the pink shirt, but the yellow/blue bandana/wristband style should GTFO.

I really don't like Nadal in polos, totally contrasting styles with Nadal's power style and the polo's classiness. I hated the capri's though. Regular shorts and a crew please.

That's Nadal dressed best.

LOL. This photo is photoshopped. I'm surprised you guys can't see it. The doctoring only required a simple tool to replace the actual color of his shirt and shoes with the pink. :)

yes that is photoshoped but word is that will be his RG color. It's posted on his site.

I agree, the polo style is more annoying than the color itself.

It is not photoshoped...That same picture is posted on his website...which all of a sudden is completely pink!

Maybe its a new tactic from uncle Phony to distract their opponents... LOL

that's where I got the picture. It's photoshoped. Rafa hasn't officially made his debut with the outfit yet. this picture is part of the preview.

yeah the AO and Rotterdam outfits rocked. Better those than these damn polos, can't they see this:cry:
He always manages to look ok in the end, but still, he should look decent not like a disfunctional rainbow puked on him.

Before anyone starts, no, his clothing is not the most important thing, but still

I agree with OP, Nadal should get back to his pirate pants and sleeveless shirts. They fit him so much better. Looking at his bulging biceps about to burst from his polo just doesn't seem fitting.

One word - GREED on Nike's part. They are splitting the product line into two. With Fed wearing the more conservative even 80's like patterned ploy polo, then Nadal wearing the colorful more youthful, almost hip hop like style. The cotton candy CB is straight out of a BAPE catalog!

Nike knows they will steal more market by going two opposite directions. They know even if you hate one you will probably pick the other.

Well, not really. Nadal is basically wearing a more colorful version of Fed's clothes. They were completely opposite a year ago before he switched to the polos.

Show me any Fed's clothes that are remotely similar to Nadal's this season. No way. The cutting, design, fit, and everything is different. Just because the shirt got sleeves doesn't me they are just a more colorful version of Fed's.

There are clearly three (or four) lines of distinctive men's tennis clothing going on here. One is spearheaded by Federer's image, one on Nadal's, and a third one for the rest of their spokes athletes, kind of a mixed style. A forth one if you will is the basic generic mass market line that doesn't change much from last season.

I'm not talking about the fit. I'm just saying that Federer wears a bandana,
polo, and shorter shorts. Nadal wears a bandana, polo, and shorts that are shorter than what he used to wear. His hair is now much shorter and is close in length to Fed's. He looks a lot more like him today then he did a year ago.

I like him in the vibrant colors too. Been watching some old matches. That tangerine orange, strawberry red, citrusy yellow, sea blue, and lime green. He's too yummy for words.

Rafa is lucky with his colouring and physique he can look good in most colours
and styles

I think so too. That's why what he wears has become a non-issue for me. I adored the pirate look, because it was so original, but in the end it doesn't matter. He looks good in everything.

I heard that the pink shirt is just for practicing, Nadal will play his matches topless - especially to fulfill the request of certain "veroniqem" and "babbette" from unnamed internet tennis forums.
