Your feed is a monster shot that makes the ball fly 300 feet in the air then fall on the court.

What the heck? 30 min of feeding? Who is stringing for you? Make sure they are doing a good job and not clamping in the middle of the strings or anything. THat's pretty ridiculous, 30 min.

Synthetic gut strings are not known for durability. I've broken PSGD after 3 sets before and I string for myself so I know it was not a stringing error.

Take your racket and have it strung with PSGD at 58 and see if the same thing happens. If it breaks again in 30 minutes quit using PSGD.

But breaking after only 30 min of feeding balls is extreme. I'd talk to your stringer if I were you. Try changing the string( for a similar one ), if this happens again then it's your stringer's fault.

'Ookie Cookie' said, "I strung my racket ..." I am guessing he pulled his crosses hand over hand through the mains but he did not say anything about how he strung his racket or where the strings broke.

Exactly! Without more information, it is impossible to say what happened. It could be a broken or cracked grommet, or burned main string from not properly installing crosses, a shanked hit, or any # of things.Nothing was even mentioned if it broke in same spot, or where it was.
A picture of it could help identify the problem.

do you have pictures of where the string is breaking? maybe your grommet is cutting into your string somehow? or as that guy said about, maybe you are just pulling the string straight through, and prematurely notching them...

Hi Irvin: How do you like this, now you are referred to as "that guy"

Three sets is entirely possible... feeding balls (short of feeding Roddick like serves) isn't. Feeding balls may make your strings go dead, but they don't put so much stress as to pop them, at least not in that time frame.

There is most likely some sort of defect either in the string it's self, a cracked grommet somewhere, burning on a string or something or other. Most likely if it's not popped at the edges of the frame and is a main or a cross, Prince may send you another set if you're so inclined to send it back

OP's racquet is 16.5 oz 17 pt HL. Synthetic string has no chance of withstanding that much force for - 30 min. His arm is going to break next.

Explains why I hated the feel of my racket after doing one lesson...

With these numbers, I'm thinking 16.5 POUNDS (if not kilograms) and 80 points (10 inches) head HEAVY.

Hahah yeah... it pays to have teaching frames and playing frames. Try hitting 4 carts worth of serves at kids in rapid fire with a kps!

Anyways. If those specs are true, you must have one helluva resistance to fatigue. But none the less, FEEDING doesn't put strain on the strings. One can basically flick a wrist and feed from the throat of the racquet. Feeding shouldn't shift or damage the strings in any shape or form.

And hey... if you're legit popping SG in 30 mins feeding I'd love to know what you manage to pop poly in hitting... you may give Jolly a run for his money!

Hey, in this age of caveman tennis, we do best using quality (and approved) cavemen equipment! :)

And I don't see the point of serving rapidfire fashion to kids, but it must be very annoying... I'd rather use a stiff oversize to teach. Something crappy but bouncy. Actually, I've grown accustomed to feeding with rackets with no trampoline effect... Haha.
