What is this Donnay?

Can't find any info on this. I admit I am new to classics like this but maybe someone can tell me about it.
Does it have any value? The grip is awesome, one of the best I have ever felt.
Has orig cover and is in 8.5/10
If it doesn't have value over $20 I am probably using the grip for something else

It's a 4th generation Donnay Graphite/wood from 1982 and contains graphite, fiberglass and vulcanized fiber for speed and strenght, great stick and worth a lot more then 20 bucks in new condition.

can someone translate that graph/code on the throat? trying to figure it out, but it seems to have me defeated.

and wasn't there a similar racket with a yellow/orange scheme, instead of the blue/green?

It's a diagram showing the lamination of the frame; of the cross section of the frame: what it's made of and where the material sits in the "sandwich" that is its lay-up (or lamination). Donnay was unique in the late 70's/early 80's with this detail (which today is kinda interesting to tech-heads like myself).

The black/orange frame that you were thinking of - from the same era and with similar graphics - was likely the Borg Allwood.

Or it could be the Fiber/wood. That whole Graphite/Wood, Fiber/wood line was superseded by the Pro line. With the Borg Pro, Graphite Pro, Fiber Pro, and Flex Pro.

I think it is older than 1982 because it has a white butt-cap with a red "D". I started to use Donnay in 1981 and mine had the black butt-cap with a white "D".

I should think the 4/5 is the "face" layer of the shaft and hoop. i.e if you lay the racquet flat, the 4/5 layer is the top surface of the racquet you can see (and obviously the same layer underneath on the other side of the racquet as well).

If that makes sense?

Yes i know, i was more referring to the Donnay catalogue here in Belgium (sorry for the confusion), there it was listed in 1982...
Donnay used the 4th gen logo from 1977-1985 together with the Donnay ®

Hmm tricky one, only one i can think of right now is the Bjorn Borg Golden Team, it's a black with golden but it is not a D-cap.
Maybe the Donnay Boron or the Donnay 3-set Gold?

It is a normal black buttcap with the "D" in Gold instead of white

The truth is that I'm not sure what it is myself yet:shock:

I can see it in the corner of my spare room on a shelf, but there are a couple of hundred racquets in the way for me to get to it, really annoying!

But will definitely get to it at the weekend, who knows what else I may find
