I don't understand it either, show some respect to Rafa. And really, the lineup for center court tomorrow looks terrible. All of the matches will probably be snoozefests.

Well, to be honest, watching the number 2 in the world face the number 655 in the world probably doesn't merit even TV coverage. I know I won't be watching it, unless I read somewhere that Mina is leading two sets to love.

I don't know, I wouldn't mind watching that match over Hewitt v Roddick

For once I agree with Cesc. Nadal should be playing on center court, he's #2 in the world for crying out loud.

In all honesty, if I were paying for a centre court ticket, I'd rather see Hewitt and Roddick battle it out on clay against Niemenen and Chardy than see Nadal trounce and snack on some helpless French fawn.

It's an outrage and a slap in the face to all Nadal fans. Clowns like Roddick and Hewitt shouldn't even be allowed to play in RG because watching them embarrass themselves time and time again in early rounds is getting tiresome. The King of Clay should be getting all the respect!

Save your tears. I went to Wimby in '02 and had to suffer Ferrero (fresh off taking the gaspipe in the French finals) lose to an American scrub on Centre Court. Starpower is starpower and tournament organizers don't really match to surface.

Jemar, for the nth time, I agree with you.

(We all know who's gonna win between Nadal and Minar, anyway)

Lacoste is a French brand, and it is one of the main sponsors of Roland Garros. Roddick is the main face of Lacoste, which could explain why he is playing on Centre Court.

Nadal is sponsored by Nike, which is an American brand and I don't think is one of the sponsors of Roland Garros. This would explain why Nadal is playing on Court Suzanne Lengden

I never heard that reasoning before.....to me, they just probably want to please both crowds at Chatrier and Lenglen....and even out their scheduling to accommodate everybody.....let's see, there are 2 frenchies in Chatrier who are higher ranked than the French Mina and the former Champ, Henin already scheduled there....Nadal will not have problem whether he plays at Lenglen or Chatrier, so it really doesn't matter, does it?

I'd like to think those kinds of things don't bother Nadal. People can play mind games all they want. In the end, hopefully it won't matter. Even more reason I hope Nadal hoists the trophy. They do this crap to Venus and Serena all the time. Hasn't stopped them from winning. Go Rafa, feed off the hate, and strengthen your inner yourself.

I wonder why they did this though - wouldn't be surprised if this were at the request of the local up-and-comer. Even court 2 main draw match will probably be the biggest stage of his career by far, and on clay against Nadal of all players?

This can only happen at the French Open. No other respectable Grand Slams will do this to the number 2 seed (former no. 1). And they picked Roddick and Hewitt over him??

What a disgrace, it truly is.. The FO authority should be penalized

it doesnt really matter IMO. As a fan all i am hoping is that Nadal wins every match he plays and reclaims his title. Whether he plays on center court or not is irrelevant IMO.

The last time I posted such a thread when fed or nadal played on court '2' at a slam, there were many replies saying it's quite common once every slam.

I don't follow court-scheduling enough to notice, but that's what I was told at the time (a year or two ago).

Its Verdasco's fault. He dissed their boy Gasquet and the French crowd and now the French officials are taking their revenge on the other Spaniards

It's very simple really. Both Bartoli and Chardy are French. Nadal's match is due to start around the same time as Bartoli. The Open has a stated French player promotion policy. That and they have been under pressure for some time to put the women's scheduling on an "equal footing".

That's all it is.

It's only one match. They're probably just giving others the chance to play to Chatrier. I'd be very surprised if Nadal played any more matches on Lenglen.

Why ? Are you suggesting he is going to lose in the first round itself.

(hey hey, just kidding guys)
