Wilson - Forget Sampras gives us Edberg

In light of Sampras ditching the Pro Staff named for him, how about we petition Wilson to create a Pro Staff Edberg edition?

I hate using a racket with a player's signature on it, but I would be proud to use one with Edberg's.

I plan to write Wilson on Tuesday to ask that they consider this request.

Anyone have their address in Chicago?

Easy solution for Wilson. The "KPro Staff" loses the Sampras signature and the "K" in "KPro Staff" means it's the Krickstein Pro Staff. Problem solved.

All I know about Edberg besides him being a classy dude- I was at the tournament hotel in Cincinnati, at the front desk to go up to see Jim Courier. (I worked for several years at the Cincinnati event as the stadium announcer.) As I gave the guy at the desk my name, I then turned around and was almost nose to nose with Mrs. Edberg. <Ahem.> Quite lovely.

If Wilson made an Edberg that would be terrific. He is a great tennis ambassador....I would definitely buy one.
That would be even better than a PS88 with Sampras who was not someone who did things for the game.

You know, I hadn't really thought of this angle until I read your post. How much investment of time, effort, and marketing was put into the making of the new Sampras Wilson signature racquet that came out in the last little bit? Wow, must be a slap in the face to Wilson that he would leave for Babolat after they released this signature racquet.

I could care less what racquet Sampras hits with these days, but I bet Wilson doesn't feel the same way.

Wow, an Edberg prostaff? I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Great idea! But you're probably better off asking them online. It'd be faster and they do reply to most comments/queries.

Lets be about right, Wilson did not make that frame as a tribute to Peter Sampras, they made it as they knew they would sell it on the basis of his name being on it. Theres hardly any players in the world who can use a pro staff with a 90inch head and get the best results from it let alone a 88. Obviously Pete agreed and will take a royalty of anything with his name on it but his contract must be up, or he wants to use whats best for his game.
