I would love to see it, but Mayweather's never going to agree to it. He's so scared of Pac that he's going to prison

But in all seriousness, Pac is the pound-for-pound best and Mayweather isn't going to prove me wrong.

Mayweather being afraid of Pac? Comical.

Pactards will never give Floyd any credit. The guy just beat Sugar Shane Mosley, far better than anyone Pac has ever faced.

Hey, all credit to Floyd. He beat Marquez who basically beat Pac twice. I'm not saying that Floyd isn't a great fighter, but I want to see this fight! Pac seems keen to fight, but I haven't seen that same level of enthusiasm from Floyd. Mosley is great, but he's not exactly in his prime. If Floyd goes to jail and never has another fight, everyone will always wonder "what if". Sure on both sides there will be people who would say "Floyd would have won for sure" or "Pac would have won for sure".

But I don't have any respect for fighter who beats a woman.

George Foreman said:
Well it’s one of those fights that I hope never happens because Pacquiao doesn’t need Mayweather in his life. It’ll be one of those life changing experiences for Pacquiao, especially. For instance, I didn’t have to fight Muhammad Ali. I really didn’t have to take that fight. I took the fight and it turned into more than just a boxing match. It became a political statement, one way and the other, and today we’re great friends but if I had to do it over again, because of all the other sprinkling on the pies, I never would have taken part in such a fight. I think Pacquiao had a nice name. Mayweather started to slander him, say things like he was taking drugs. When you start running into people like that, it’s best that you stay away from them. It’s not even necessary to even have them in your life. But if the fight does take place, I think that Pacquiao wins because he’s got the momentum, he has a real trainer, and he’s willing to take the fight. He’d probably beat Mayweather, probably. Not to say Mayweather isn’t a wonderful fighter. He is the best fighter I’ve ever seen in my life, but he can’t beat Pacquiao because there is something else going on in that fight business. Not the X’s and the O’s, but there’s something else.

Haha!

But seriously. Why would Mayweather want to avoid Pac if he's the more likely winner (bookmakers favorite)?

Me thinks it is Manny who might have a need to avoid Floyd. Or more specifically "Pac inc" might have a need (since Manny is more dependent on endorsements and by avoiding defeat Manny can avoid being potentially less market-friendly)

Exactly. Mayweather fought an old, out of his prime Mosley. Early on in his career Mosley called Floyd out several times but Mayweather dodged him like the plague.

But Pac is just such an easy person to like. He's a monster in the ring, a gentleman off it and he's even a freaking congressman in the Phillipines. I'm pretty sure Nike could think up some advertisements even if he were to lose against Floyd.

Even then Mosley nearly knocked out Mayweather in the second round. Mosley never went in for the kill, though =/

Unfortunately this fight will never happen...Floyd will never take second billing to Pacman...and besides, it'll be a boring one anway since Floyd will just be running away from Pacman in the ring ;)

Once again, Floyd gets no credit. But Manny gets credit for beating Joshua Clottey, a Miguel Cotto who's been in too many wars, a Hatton who had just been knocked out by Mayweather (when he was undefeated), and a weight drained De La Hoya.

Floyd ducked Mosley?

Actually Mosley dodged Mayweather a couple times
This is true. Any true boxing fan knows this.

Floyd didn't get knocked out. Getting knocked out is Manny Pacquiao 2 times in his career. Floyd is still undefeated and he's beaten the best of them.

I'm sure you meant 'undefeated at ducking opponents - until they're over the hill.'

Just out of principle I hope Pacman doesn't fight him. Mayweather exposed himself as a racist who mistreats women (whether he hits them or not, we aren't sure - but his internet statements show that he treats them like objects). Shouldn't do anything to help him out of the financial mess he's in.

Manny is the pride of the Philippines. The same thing certainly could not be said of Mayweather and the US

^ So what? Even Ali was not "the pride of the US" until AFTER he retired AND got old AND got parkinsons :)

Style-wise Manny reminds me of Michael Chang (just like Roger reminds me of Ali and, Rafa obviously of Tyson). Like Chang, Manny is a bit limited in terms of overall skills and physique (especially in terms of having an apparent p*ssyshort arms-shoulders) but he makes up for it in agility and lightening speed

Only roids allow you to put on that much weight at his age and still maintain your speed. There is no ther explanation that makes sense. He has jumped up too many weightclasses and maintaned his speed.

I like floyds chances if these two do ever get into the ring. I think floyds defense is the best ever. I also dont see him taking the chances like he did when Mosley cought him. Floyd would probably counter punch his way to a decision while not recieving or giving any damage.

What else does the Phillipines have? Nothing.

You cant be the pride of the US unless you dominate the olympics then it only lasts for maybe a month after. The US just has too many atheletes and sports to pick from.

True.......but if Floyd were to be in Manny's place, rather not have him at all. Floyd is one of those people that can have money and fame, yet will always remain classless and ignorant...........with emphasis on ignorant.

Any lingering misconception that Floyd Mayweather Jnr might be the one occupying the moral high ground has surely been dispelled by Manny Pacquiao's declared willingness to waive any and all restrictions on blood testing if the richest fight in boxing history ever makes it into the ring.

By lifting his objection to random drugs tests within 14 days of the first bell Pacquiao leaves Mayweather with no excuse for failing to meet the challenge of proving which of them is the greatest pound-for-pound fighter on the planet - assuming of course that any prison sentence Floyd Jnr might be about to receive does not keep him in captivity beyond his pugilistic lifespan.

For the record, Pac would destroy Mayweather.

I'm not so sure about that. Mayweather is a tough guy to beat. He fights a lot like Roy Jones Jr. in his heyday. Outstanding defense and just scores point after point (like an Olympic fighter).

Mayweather (like Jones Jr.) could have so many more knockouts if he went for them. He could have easily knocked out Mosley.

The one thing Mayweather is notorious for is starting slow. He seems to use the first round (or more if he needs it, but usually doesn't) to feel out his opponent. To see what he can and can't do. To get a good read on the game plan. Then he just defends and "point punches" his way to victory.

I'm actually not sure if Maywether vs. Pac Man would be as exciting as some believe. Mayweather has a way of making fights really boring (just like Jones Jr. did).

gentleman boxer

I thought it was admirable how Manny laid off Margarito the last few rounds to spare him further punishment. In the history of boxing, we have all seen how one dominating boxer can torture another hapless boxer and just make him suffer. Even Muhammad Ali tortured many of his opponents, and now Ali is one of the most beloved figures in the world.

If Manny had really wanted to punish Margarito and his camp for disrespecting Roche, he could have punished him more, doing things like rubbing his glove in that gaping wound under M's right eye.

I can really only think of one. "What's my name" Ernie Terrell.
You're right. Poor Ernie was the only one Ali physicallytortured. But Ali was known to "converse" with his opponents as he was beating their brains in. As far as I know, there are no reported incidents of Manny talking or trash-talking to his opponents as he was beating their faces to a pulp. He's just doing his job, as he has stated.

If anything he is all smiles jogging into the ring before bouts. Its better if he sings while pulping his opponents that way he can practice for his concert hehe....
