No he's not another Rusdedski. Yes he had loads of support from Tennis Canada. He still does.
I know a friend who has been with him in the National Program! The guy can't become profressional because of his injury! He said he is a very shy and funny guy! However that it so suprising that this mellow kid get angry and frustrated on the court! Right now he seems calm....which is actually translating into his tennis program!

he didnt even get a wildcard 2009 at rogers cup where he almost took out gonzales. they give it to those riff raffs from quebec.
was he the favoured child with tennis canada?
when did he get into the national program?
everyone in canada is jumping on his bandwagon now.

He played tennis at 8...My Friend met him at the program when he was in the under 14's! I don't think he was the favoured guy in tennis in canada.....Yes he had a big serve....many people are suprised by Milos....even my friend!
No.
Yes, they even "imported" a coach (Guillaume Marx) from France to help his development.
They used to suck, they got their act together.
Don't be silly, who do you think gets these wildcards when they play in Toronto?

wasnt he still at blackmore when he was U14?
i heard he still had to pay for court time
national program..........do you mean the one at york or montreal?
has you read casey curtis website?
he coached milos till he was 16,17. i do believe
here is an excerpt
"In other words it is extremely important to set specific goals, make sure they can be measured, and then measure your success towards reaching those goals.
I think if we are honest about our success over that time we would have to admit that we have not exactly lived up to our potential, and we haven't reached our goals. While I have heard certain individuals proclaim that it was not necessarily our goal to produce top 10 ranked players( it has been), there is little doubt that having a player ranked in the top 10, and especially a #1 player can work wonders in the overall promotion of any game in a country. Witness Australia, the U.S., Sweden, Argentina, Spain, France, Czechoslovakia, the former Yugoslavia, Germany, Belgium. Each of these countries has produced atleast one top player, who had a major impact on tennis in their respective country. So having one, or even better several, highly ranked players can go a long way in promoting the game to the overall population of a country."
tennis canada doesnt know his ass from a hole in the ground

I don't have a problem with what he said. As I stated, Tennis Canada used to suck. Now they are on the right track. The current structure/personel/player development programs have only been in place for a few years. You can already see progress. Rome was not built in one day...
How is this even remotely relevant to this discussion?
Not from York....I think it was somewhere else! I'll ask my Friend....rarely comes to the Rexall Indoors! You seem to know a lot....Related with Tennis Canada or OTA?
what progress?
milos and casey curtis did it on their own
When he was younger perhaps, but when he moved to Montreal, where he spent 3 years, his development was entirely supervised (and his still) by Tennis Canada, including "importing" a top French coach which I mentionned above. Do you know who Louis Borfiga is?
What does this have to do with anything??? FYI, I know Louis Cayer.
I'm in Montreal. I play at Uniprix Stadium, home of the National Tennis Centre. I used to coach (amongst other tennis related activities) but I don't anymore. I'm semi-retired but I still know a bunch of people/coaches at Tennis Canada.
I play at Rexall Indoor Tennis Centre(winter time and SUmmer time! The bubble mostly...the other courts are for those junoir programs!
Also Thomson Park Tennis Club in the summer!

good for you. do you play for the york team?
Nope, I didn't even try out....but I'd know they would be too good for me to join....maybe when I get a lot better! SO far just happy with playing at least twice a week! till summer comes!
u sound like you a lot of love for the game. you will get there some day.
thanks for sharing that
well, you are the person to ask.
when he was in montreal, he wasnt the highest touted talent. or was he?
Ya explains why I stay on these forums....read Wikipedia pages about past professional players, download old tennis matches, visit tennis.com everyday! Parents think I am crazy and are annoyed. It an addiction... More like a game to enjoy all your life! Where you try to improve and have fun till the day you die! I know so many guys in their late 50's and 60's who are so crafty and annoying! They angle all these balls everyone,,,,making you tired using the youth to their advantage! So I know I can still have fun even when I get old...can say that in many sports excluding martial arts!
Thanks...Hopefully I can realize that some day!
The potential was there but he was still pretty raw. And bigger guys usually take longer to develop and grow into their bodies so it's not unusual for them to be late bloomers. So I think everybody is surprised (including Tennis Canada) at how well he's doing currently. Probably why Borfiga said today that it's a tad early to talk about top 10 and that he still has a lot of work to do.
I believe Nadalfan89 seduced him in an elevator with his red vamos rafa shirt.

Also, Milos eventually will leave. Sorry. The Northern hicks have only bad things to say of people from the balkans, until they play tennis and win and now Milos is all of a sudden Canadian.

lol about your parents
i have another question
do you have to be york student to play at york? can the public play there?
He can't go pro because he is not good enough. Wait... he's injured? Does his last name happen to be Nadal?

Hey, I'm 50 and I still play.
It's funny when I play with my nephew (he's 13, in a tennis sports&study program, I think he's ranked 20 something in U14 in Quebec), he keeps trying to blast every groundstroke and I just feed him junk. Then he gets frustrated and shouts "why do you do that! that's not tennis!" lollll
You succeeded at posting idiotic comments on the internet. Congratulations.
Well you don't have to be a york student...however the fee is very expensive... I think like 20-30 dollars to book the court! However York Tennis Club Members get to pay 5 dollars for 2 hours on the court( Sometimes the courts are empty so we stay a few more hours to a max of 6 hours).
Varsity members get it free anytime !
I think you might have better options....the courts aren't great except for the Rexall Centre court, Indoor Bubble and outdoor practice courts!
That's it? All I get is that one liner? No need to explain why? Why is what country you play for so important at each tournament anyways? Only thing that would keep Milos in Canada is MONEY. If he gets huge endorsements.. Otherwise, I think he'd rather spend his time in Budva laying on the beach.
He was 3 y/o when he moved to Canada... The rest is pure speculation on your part.
The sum total of all these posts, to answer the thread "Does anyone here know Raonic?", is NO.
