I watched a movie called Teeth. Its a movie about a girl with a toothed vagina and anyone she doesnt like she manually chops off their penis. Its one of the better movies I've watched off Netflix instant streaming on the 360.

Just saw Biutiful last night. Though a bit too long (there were a few parts that could have been cut out) overall it was a very good story of redemption.

= very, very good! I watch a lot of movies and this was very, very good. It was probably the best movie I've seen in the past year. It might not have the best cinematography, acting, etc. but the story is great and easily makes up for it. This movie was entertaining.

Saw three good movies:

The King's Speech

The Fighter

The Green Hornet

All three are good, The King' Speech has really good acting. And in The Fighter, Christian Bale is great. The Green Hornet is good too, and you get see good action and Cameron Diaz in tiny knickers :)

I'm with you on the first two but The Green Hornet was an unmitigated steaming pile of crap. They could not have made that film worse if they tried and they clearly tried really hard.

If you're into that rough genre a far better film is Watchmen.

Liked Watchman. I think Green Hornet is a good movie if you are just looking for fun and things to explode :)

Haven't seen Battlefield Earth, but I've heard reviews. Is it really that bad? :p

It's no Shawshank Redemption. Or maybe it is... I haven't seen it.

"The Social Network". Boring at times, but the ending was nice. Zuckerberg's a dovchebag.

You mean the actual person, or the character based on him as portrayed in the film?

The King's Speech - 1st time I enjoyed an Oscar-winning movie.

You must not have seen all that many. Some are excellent. For every boring "Gandhi" type feel good (aka, the King's Speech) there's a "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest".

The portrayal made it seem like he screwed Saverin over - at least as much as you can be screwed over and still be a billionaire like Saverin is.

I just finished watching a movie called Santa's Slay. Its about Santa Claus who's played by Bill Goldberg (that you may remember from WWE) who basically kills people on Christmas. Its a good movie that mixes in comedy and horror. 4/5 stars.

I tend to hate remakes of foreign films with a passion but "Let Me In" was actually quite good, albeit unnecessary. Of course, if you listen to the "making of" on the Blu-ray disc, you'll never know you just watched a remake because the director keeps talking about how great the book was, that he even wrote the author, etc... and yet he never mentions the Swedish film ("Let the Right One In") when his film is almost identical...

Really?! How many have you seen? Here's just a couple I can think of that were excellent oscar winning movies. Maybe you should check them out:

The Godfather
The GodfatherII
Amadeus
Platoon
Driving Miss Daisy
Silence of the Lambs
Unforgiven
Schindler's List
Braveheart
Gladiator
A Beautiful Mind
LOTR: The Return of the King
Slumdog Millionare
The Hurt Locker
The Kings Speech

Give these movies a chance, you might be surprised.

I'll add Cuckoo's Nest to pmata's excellent list. Two of the three films to win the big 5 awards (actor, actress, director, film, screenplay) concerned psychiatry -- One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and Silence of the Lambs. (The other was It Happened One Night, with Clark Gable). Regrettably, the psychiatrists depicted were either sadists or cannibals, or both.

You picked up some of the lesser oscar winners, my friend. I wouldn't watch most of those movies again. A lot better choices than those.

Now we're talking. Possibly the greatest movie of all time.

Regrettably, the psychiatrists depicted were either sadists or cannibals, or both.

I don't recall that, and I've seen the film at least a dozen times since first seeing it in a theater on Central Avenue in Yonkers, NY in 1976 as a 13 year old, walking out into the parking lot afterwards, and thinking "Wow. That was the best movie I've ever seen", a statement that pretty much still stands. Some of procedures done to the lead character may not have been fun, yes, but the real villains were the lesser staffers, nurse Ratched specifically. The hospital administrator seemed a good enough fella, nor did we meet any Dr. Evil type characters.

Please share, I'm always interested in watching a good movie :)

I tried to pick oscar winners that also had commercial appeal so that "forthegame" might have a better chance of enjoying the film.

As a Hannibal Lecter fan, I was ashamed to say I hadn't seen 'Manhunter' before. So I took the time to watch it.

A bit closer to the book than 'Red Dragon', but both movies are SO incredibly alike (even dialogue-wise), its spooky.

Well, okay. Going backwards in time, here are several winners I'd rather watch then most of the films on your list:

2005 - "Crash"
1983 - "Terms of Endearment"
1980 - "Ordinary People"
1978 - "The Deer Hunter"
1977 - "Annie Hall"
1975 - "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest"
1969 - "Midnight Cowboy" - Number 1 choice besides 'Cuckoo's Nest'!
1965 - "The Sound of Music"
1961 - "West Side Story"
1954 - "On the Waterfront"
1950 - "All About Eve"
1946 - "The Best Years of Our Lives"
1945 - "The Lost Weekend"
1939 - "Gone with the Wind"

I watched the entire Mildred Pierce HBO miniseries and it's aging really well in my mind.

It's a bit plodding in places, but finishes very strong. Kate Winslet is so naturally attractive.

The King's Speech - 1st time I enjoyed an Oscar-winning movie.

I can't figure out why people like this. It felt like something out of the BBC vault to me. Just with more big name actors.

There are some charming moments, but some really cloying ones too (the dumb humour with the wife finding out about the king).

The redemption tale is all too familiar. I got a big kick recently from reading an article that compared the plot of this to the Karate Kid.

The one thing that is good about this film is that it avoided the all-too-typical stereotype of the stuttering, mindless buffoon that we see so much in films. It's nice to see a sympathetic portrayal of someone with an underrated affliction.

I guffawed when the director of this won the oscar. He directs mediocre miniseries for tv.

Crash? That's on my list of worst movies ever. Preachy, horrible over acting, outrageous coincidences, lame plot. Ludacris -- enough said.
What's the movie about? Prejudice. If you don't get it after the 500th times, don't worry, the director made sure you'd get it at the end where he spelled it out in big bold fonts for you. Ghetto car-jacking gangsters by night, heroic sweat-shop-slaves saviors by day. Give me a fkn break.
