Japanese group 'Anonymous' hack on PlayStation Network

It's day 11, I have heard, and the network is still going under maintenance. What do you guys think? I looked at the guys on Wikipedia after finding out who they are on YouTube. Things I remember that they were responsible for are The Great Habbo Raid '06 followed by '07, YouTube 'adult video' day, in which 'I'm 12 years old and what is this?' became famous. These guys threatened Sony after one of their guys were sued, and Sony returned with 'You're not Anonymous, you're just a little bit more than annoyance'. The group 'Anonymous' are known for wearing Guy Fawkes masks, too. These guys, to me, are very interesting Before you say I need to get off games, the last time I went on a game, was around last December, so yeah. Anyway, these are some pictures of the guys.

Doubt it. I have heard on the radio, online, and everywhere that a group of Japanese hackers named 'Anonymous' have hacked into PlayStation Network
Well, they did specifically deny that they were responsible for the PSN attack.

The media is bound to not drop their name now they're so publicised from the wikileaks aftermath, people will want someone to blame.

How? I like them anyway, but I don't think they should have cleared out people's bank accounts. And they want people to be free to do what they want, anyway. They hack normally because they did not like what they did because it is a breach of someones freedom. I heard that they hacked PSN because a guy who made challenge lobbies all over COD6: MW2 was taken to court or something, and they were upset with them stopping this guy from being free or whatever, so they hacked. Not sure if it's true, though.

Anonymous announces when they're going to do something. I don't recall any mentioning of wanting to hack Sony's PS3. I highly doubt Anonymous did it, and they've always explained what they've done when asked about it, and they denied this so I really don't think they did this.

I didn't know Anonymous was Japanese...interesting...

Well then why didn't they hack xBox, you have to pay monthly for that.

Plus, they generally do things that a majority of people hate, but cannot do anything about because the government has to respect the decisions.

Yeah, I prefer the Xbox controller. It's got a nice weight to it and for me, it's a nicer fit. Whenever i'm at a friends and playing PS3 it seems too light and small in the hand.

It's just preference I suppose.

Djokolate is wrong.

Anonyomous may have some Japanese members, but I've never heard they are largely or even moderately based in Asia.

Read this article and you'll see the most destinguished and high status members are American.

The show was run by a couple of admins he identified as "Q," "Owen," and "CommanderX"—and Barr had used social media data and subterfuge to map those names to three real people, two in California and one in New York.

You guys do know that Anonymous isn't a unified collective right? There is no "official" Anonymous group, no complex Anon hierarchy, no secret anon meetings while evading cyber police. It's moreso just a bunch of people who have loosely similar goals.

there are many other Anonymous videos like this, too.

Implying those videos were made by Anonymous. You know how many people pose as someone from Anonymous but aren't actually a part of it? Plenty of them. Answer the rest of my post too please.

Well, you can't blame me. It was the radio

Well then get your facts straight first by checking other sources before posting here. That would be greatly appreciated.

Just because someone claims to be anonymous, doesn't mean that it's the group "ANON" that hacked PSN. Last I heard, they were some form of sect from 4chan, who did it because, well, they're 4chan and they run the internet...

Woah, man. Anonymous have probably not got together and made a goal to hack the guys, but maybe two or three Anonymous members have hacked PSN. It is not my fault that the radio have said this. This is news to me, so I have posted on here to update everyone. Seeing that it is from a strong radio, I wouldn't think they would have made this up. Sony have also mentioned Anonymous in the subject of hacking the network, too. So stop with the ***** talk and don't try and turn this into an argument, now.

Okay, but you're only validating my point further.
