Dancer needs to go. Now. He's worse than Weber or Zook.

Watching this yesterday yes, I was very unimpressed with Illinois. Lots of chokes, too worried about not losing as opposed to winning and the non players behavior watching was very, very juvenile.
Signs of a bad coach.

Most college tennis players act juvenile so that's not an issue as far as this is concerned. I've seen and heard about plenty of players, hoosiers included, behaving badly and lacking sportsmanship. Just part of college tennis.

Kind of agree as I go to a lot of matches but when some stand out it usually means they went a bit too far, a woman in her 50s left as she felt so offended by them, I would say that oversteps it.

It's not the coach, it is the lack of heart in certain players. Who is going to stand up and be the leader next year when Dennis is gone? That is the bigger problem. From what I have seen this year, Kopinski has the biggest heart out there.

When you see a coach give a transfer without making that player sit out a year, you know it was a two way street. A coach recruits what he is sold. Every college coach will tell you that 95% of these players say they live on the court and can't get enough. Then when they get to school, the coach has to drag most of them out to practice.

Other than Ohio State, the Big Ten is pretty average to say the least for the last few years.

I think Illinois will make it to play osu in the final, Indiana-Minn rematch looks tasty.

Not sure if the Illini has it in them to beat the Wolverines. Revenge would be sweet though. But we are basically deciding who's going to be battered to a pulp in the final. Maybe Indiana can pull off an upset in the semis? :)

Id take osu's #6 to beat most of our 6 (maybe not at #2) so I dont see it, I think Minnesota beats us again in a close one but would like to be wrong.

Big 10 championships, next weekend. Will this be a blowout win by Ohio ? Can any team give them a decent match ?

Maybe Michigan or an "on" Illinois could lose by a score of 5-2, or 4-2, which looks decent on paper, but I doubt it would be that close overall. I doubt OSU will ever be sweating and in doubt of the win.

Afraid you're right. Illinois hasn't beaten OSU since 2007. Is there a more suspense-less tournament this year?

There used to be a poster on these boards named Fedace who always referred to Ohio State as "Ohio." Odd coincidence.

No thats Feddy, he was banned apparently so returned with a new name, best poster on these boards imho.

I always forget how nice Northwestern's outdoor facilities are. A lot of the season is indoors, and the Vandy Christie Tennis center doesn't have the "wow" factor of facilities that have big permanent grandstands for veiwing. But, it's an understated "nice." Quality green/blue surfaced courts right on Sheridan Road, across from the beautiful buildings of the north fraternity/dorm quads, tree-lined streets surrounding the area and basically residential Evanston immediately to the west.

There were no indoor facilities when I went to school there way back in the early 1990s, other than 3 courts inside a bubble up by the football stadium. The current 6-court indoor facility (about a 5 minute walk from the outdoor courts) is also really nice.

Purdue/Michigan State 3-3 going to come down #3 singles with MSU's Hulewicz up 6-1 4-3. All other singles were straight set wins and with the exception of #1 all blowouts.

Nebraska beats Wisky.
Indy beats Iowa.

Wisconsin has really fallen off the map since making the Sweet Sixteen a couple years ago.

The sweet 16 Wisconsin team was very top heavy with Baumann and Michalicka. But yes I would have expected them to reamin in 40's or 50's, not dropped from the top 75 entirely. Clemson beat them this year 6-1 and we were without Harrington and Wibowo.

Harrington was 9-15 this year. How did he not get bumped out of the lineup?

I wonder is OSU plays butts up for whoever doesn't get their matches finished. These guys look like they are racing to get off the court first.

#2 singles we seemed to be up a set and 5-3 then lost it 7-5. Going to go right down to the wire I think, we are very conditioned which helps but also we play not to lose which can backfire.

The MN-IN match is great for bragging rights, but does it really have any broader implications?

Both teams should make the tournament regardless of the outcome. Neither will be high enough to host the first two rounds, and neither is going to beat OSU.

Satsuma Illini

Semi-Pro
Indy leading 4-2 and 4-1. Getting just a little of bit of breathing room but these things turn on a dime.

Illinois takes 4 first sets. Looks like they'll advance. But there's that dime thing so you never know.

Id say if you have any competitive juices at all you play to win a match like this

Of course. I'm not expecting players to not be super competitive. Bragging rights is as good a reason as any to want to win. I'm just saying that the result won't matter, or will matter little, in the bigger picture.

You could take that reasoning quite far really
