One of my stringer, very experienced, once changed to a "better" stringing machine, but this new machine was putting to much pressure on the frame and he had some problems with cracks on a few sticks. Bummer... i suggest to change stringer
I used Yonex sticks for years and never had any problem with that.

been wanting to rave on the pj quality of my 89t for quite some time now.. i'm not sure what they use but it seems like it is incapable of chipping/scuffing. i love picking balls up by bouncing it up off the ground, but sometimes when i miss the top of the frame smacks the surface pretty hard. done it at least 10 times over the past month and it is still in immaculate condition. my PDs on the other hand..
Multifeel is not too powerful for you?
not sure about the power but we'll see when i play in the morning, i haven't had the chance to go out and play due to rain so not sure how the string is power, and control wise. Also i can always get a different string if its not too good only reason i ended up getting this string is cause i had elbow problems when it comes to heavy rackqets looked around on the forum and said this was one of the good strings for arm friendly so worth a try

aahh crap i just HAD to go out and chip the PJ digging out a half-volley last night. the nice silver paint at 10 has a nice hole now.

I also would like to know, they do feel heavier, I demoed some racquets after I acquired my Xi's and they did feel and play heavier than what they were and than the others on the same weight range.

My experience has been that Yonex swing a bit heavier and feel a bit less head light than their specs would suggest. However, I've not found the static weight to be any different than stated. That's been the case for all the Yonex I've used, from the R-23, R-50, RQ180, RDX500 MP, RDS001MP and RQis Tour XL through to my current Xi-98. I assumed it had something to do with the isometric headshape making them feel a bit less aerodynamic. Although, on the up-side, I've found it makes even the lightest frame play very solidly (the RQis Tour XL being the most stable light-weight frame I've ever used).
On a side note: If anyone is looking for a soft poly I can recommend the Prince PolySpin 3D. I've been having some good results using it in my Xi-98 and am finding good comfort and feel (for a poly) and good spin. Probably a touch too soft and low-powered for me, but I'm sure it'd be a good fit for bigger hitters than myself.
They might feel heavy some times but then again im not exactly perfect fit guy, after practicing with the xi98, it improved my game completely, more toward control then power still quality is good feel is amazing, and wouldn't want it any other way

My friends juice pro feels lighter than my 200 even though it isn't. I love the stock weight of the 200 so I have no complaints here.
How is the power and spin with your Multi-feel?
Power is not that bad, yes you have to put in your own power sometime
as for spin its amazing how good of a spin you can achieve also i haven't had the time to put in enough time to see how the spin and power is at my best, since my shoulder isn't completely healed so may be in few weeks i can tell you exactly how good the power and spin is with this string. but so far its pretty good string probably will be buying one again

Hey folks. I just got an email response from yonex USA. They will be releasing minor updates for the 95/98/and 100 Vcores in 2012, but have nothing else scheduled.
As for a softer stick like the 200 coming, there is nothing projected yet, but they said to check back early next year.

I think that is what it will be. I wouldnt worry about buying new ones for a minor update. for example, I used the pro open and PSTGT for a little bit and always bought the earlier versions since they were less expensive and pretty much the same.
I recently converted to the Yonex VCore TOur 89. I was already set on getting a Dunlop but decided to make the most of my local shop's demo program(30 days, switch out racquets as many times as you like) and grabbed the T89 on impulse. It won me over with its surprisingly large sweet spot, control, and feel.

Probably like the mid cycle update of the RDS001 and RDS003. Hopefully they add more black to the 95D. Ive noticed I usually like the 2nd paintjob more on yonexes. Ill wait and see what they do before scooping up a used 95D.

I think you're probably right though a little softening up on the Vcore 98D and more polarization (higher swingweight, same weight and balance) would do wonders for that frame.

You didn't ask me, but here's my take. I switched to the RQIS 1 Tour XL (315g) about a month ago. With a TW 1.3 leather grip and 850 Pro multi at 60 lbs., I have found a really special set-up. Love the balance, not an tenth of an ounce of wasted weight. Somehow both stable and whippy when you need it to be, even with no lead tape added. Quite headlight, especially with the leather grip. It weighs in at about 12.1 oz. strung, but feels at least a half an ounce lighter than that. Volleys and overheads (my weakest shots) have never been better. Serves are fine. Groundstrokes....a dream. Topspin is great, slice fine, but I love smacking the ball flat with this one.
I'd always played with racquets at or over 100 square inches. A couple months ago, I started hitting more against the wall, including using an wooden racquet that I was able to get restrung. Since then, my ball contact has improved dramatically, so I tried going for something smaller. I can honestly say that I shank less balls now than I did with my old Prince Triple Threat Warrior OS that I was using this time last year.

Been Playing with Pure Drives GT +'s for a year, and have bounced around with Wilson Juice and Head Speed racquets. Tried the Yonex 98D and when I started hitting crisp backhands I was in love.
SO my Pure Drives and Wilson Juice Pro are on sale. I need to get another 98D. I think I have found my stick.
I got onto Yonex because I read about manufacture location (ie Babs and Wilson made in China). My Juice Pro demo racquet felt way better than the one i purchased. I was researching Wawrinka's backhand and saw he was using a Yonex. Then it kinda snow balled from there. Think I love this racquet. I get my new strung stick in 2 days!! Can't wait.

I would agree with your friend. It does reward good technique, though it is hardly the most demanding racquet I've ever played with. As I said, I like to hit with woodies against the hitting wall at my local center and when playing with friends. But honestly, my backswings are straight-back and pretty short (two hands on both sides), and I do fine. But on the rare occasion when I do add a loop to my groundstrokes (which I usually don't because my precision/contact suffers), the power is even better.
The two racquets I have:
- $65 used demo with headguard scuffing but otherwise decent condition I got from a Houston shop.
- $120 basically new I bought from Cra1gsL1st.
Since it's your friend, I'd say that $50-$60 is a good, non-predatory offer.

These racquets play quite well for me. I used to play with a Prince o3/Ozone Tour MP, and these racquets are def a lot better. My strokes feel more solid on contact with this racquet, not as much shaking on off center hits like the Princes. It is also more stable when hitting against hard-hitters. Ever since I started using this racquet, I've found myself hitting flatter and more aggressive shots instead of spin like I used to. Spin is there when you need it, but it's nothing to write home about. I found better spin production with my Princes. One thing I still haven't fully adjusted to is the beam width. I still find myself shanking more than I'm used to.

i'd agree with this. the last time i hit with the wife i took my donnay pro one os (tw version) just because i hadn't played in forever. i ended up switching back to my rqis xl tour because the pro one turned into a rocket launcher and i didn't shank any off the xl. in terms of feel and shankability, it plays like a much larger racquet (yes, once you get used to the head shape).
btw, going to the donnay's round head threw me off and i remember hitting a forehand high in the stringbed and it felt awful. funny how we get used to such things, isn't it.
btw again, op, please hook me up with a membership card. i started with the rds003 in '06 and went to the rqis 1 and xl after that. my serve has improved vastly and i got all the spin! :twisted: those guys who like 'em low quit calling! :twisted:

dude, as always hit with it to see what you think, but i know that string prolly wouldn't work for me in that stick. i can say that between the tour 1 and the xl, the xl definately seems to have more pop so if you like to take your cuts then it may make it magic for you. on a side note, remember that the words "long and fast" are relative terms and i think it's easier to judge your ability to generate racquet head speed by watching what the ball does than by looking at your arm and trying to judge. so take it out and smack around some balls and see what it does for your game. the poly might be the problem. i don't know. that's for you to decide.
for me, the placement i gained when i went to these sticks (tour one and xl tour) is game-changing.

Now i'm playing with a Flexpoint Prestige MP full bed of poly strung @ 41 ( 19 / 19 kg ) , 345 gr ( strung ) with dampener and overgrip.
The reason why I'm want to switch is that with the Prestige i have shoulder soreness after each game.
For a while I've played with a Bab APD GT and a BLX 90 , both of them with full poly and my shoulder was fine. As soon as I've played with the Head the shoulder problem came back.

That racket was too stiff for me. One of the few rackets I have gotten tennis elbow with. Let us know how you like it though because some people love them.

Question for longtime Yonex loyalists: do you think the slim, clean lines and straight-edged box beam goodness last seen in the Ultimum RD Ti-80 mold shape will be seen in future Yonexes? That was a great feel, shaded only by the Hexagonal cross-section as seen in the RDX 500 et.al
As a newcomer to the RD Ti-80, I'm greatly impressed by its playability (for me) and shock, horror, it has all but erased any lingering desire I had for HEAD Prestiges of any kind.

straight edged box is just too Ugly, even if it plays well. I much prefer the RQIS tour-1 shape, more of softer rectangle shape. Sweetspot was little smaller but not by much and it looked so much better.

Imo the RDX500 Hexagon cross section is better than the older, plainer RDs of Yonex. It has to evolve I think because for one reason the older designs are not as aerodynamic hence, they are coming up with slight tweaks here and there every now and then in addition to the racquet technologies they put in to the frames in each iterations.

I like the ti-80 more than its successor, the RDS002 Tour even though the 002 is much prettier. Both have a very similar cross section but the 002 has the 'Aerobox' at 3+9. I think the thin bridge of the 002 may be the reason why it doesn't have as good a feel as the ti-80.
I thought the RDX500 90 flexed way too much. Can't remember if the RDS001 has the same mould but that's the best performing out of them all imo and it doesn't have the boxy beam. edit: But the 001 is easily the ugliest racquet I've ever owned, due to its garish yellow cosmetic.

i never got te from it, but i did demo it before getting my tour xls and i thought it was pretty stiff as well.
