It doesn't matter what Toni said in order for Nadal to know who's better. He's 25 now, if he doesn't acknowledge that Fed is better than him then something is seriously wrong with him. You can fool a kid that Superman does exist, but eventually he'll know that it's just a comic book superhero.

Federer is the greater player because of his overall achievements and he is the more naturally talented player, but, in their matches on the big stages, Nadal is the "stronger" player. I am not saying Nadal is the better player but the stronger player in their slam match-ups. There really is no way to argue against that fact(and yes I know the majority of their matches have been on clay which is advantage Nadal.) There is a huge mental component in their match-ups at this point and Nadal uses that to his advantage, no doubt about it.
Also the fact that Uncle Toni tells Nadal that Federer is the superior player is definitely a psychological tactic that Toni is using in order for Nadal to go out there and play his very best against Federer time after time, it is no coincidence. Uncle Toni is a wise and sneaky guy, he knows what he is doing.

Ms. Nadal is definitely some smarta$$ poster posting with a "different" identity as Ms. Nadal. Not sure if it is NSK, or some other big Nadal fan like him or if it is a huge Federer fan/Nadal hater. It is definitely one of those options and the Ms. Nadal persona is not for real, that much is for sure.

This is not new news. Nadal has always stated that he thinks Federer is better than him in EVERY interview I've ever seen with Nadal when this topic has come up.
He knows it, we know it, the entire world knows it.
Nadal knows he's not as good nor as talented as Federer so he has to win through sheer determination, guts, and grinding. That's why even though Federer is 5 years older than Nadal and has played many more matches than Nadal has, Federer is still #1 in the world while Nadal's knees are already done and dusted.

I think it's about time that Toni cut out the crap because he isn't fooling Nadal anymore because he's no longer a kid. Of course I could be wrong if Nadal can't think/reason for himself(e.g. keep looking up into his box for toni's sign/signal during the match).

I think it is a good motivation tool Toni uses to ensure Nadal plays his extra best when he plays Federer in slams. Obviously it has worked. Even though Nadal is an adult and can think for himself, Toni has used these psychological training techniques for Nadal since Nadal was a kid and it is just a part of who Nadal is.
Think about it, Toni knew Federer was the more talented player so he had to come up with other methods for Nadal to beat Federer. Nadal does not just beat Federer with his lefty topspin high bouncing balls to Federer's backhand, he also beats Federer because of the mental advantage Nadal has built up against Federer. The brains behind all of this was Toni and he was smart, no way around it. From day one, Nadal has played Federer with seemingly no fear, that was all Toni's doing--i.e. go out there and have no fear against a guy who is more talented than you are and you have a much better chance.

Yeah match-ups make a huge difference in tennis so of course Federer is going to have a hard time against Rafa.
Replace Federer with Djokovic and I would bet my life on Djokovic to win at a RANDOM major every time. Djokovic has become a nightmare match-up for Rafa on any surface (Clay included).

They weren't talking about 2008,they were talking about 2007 where Nadal DID push Fed,and probably would have won it if he didn't get screwed over by the scheduling.
And don't give me that mono crap. Fed fans are quick to label Nadal an excuse maker,but don't hesitate to drag out the old standby mono excuse for every loss he had in 2008(and after as well it seems). Fed was not sick anymore by Wimby,and sleepwalked his way to the final without even dropping a set. Unless he only had mono in the final,he was NOT sick,and even said so himself.
