Federer.......as a total.

Nadal is a good one too....especially off court. On court buttscratching isn't such a good representation.

Thanks! You are the only one who has said Rafa so far! Rafa is a great role model! :). Rafa has been brought up so well by his loving family.

Lets have a discussion about this title.

Definitely not Nadal after his behaviour against Lucas Rosol. Whining and complaining, bodychecking during changeover, and then cheating inbetween points by taking extra time to wipe off and then faking that he wasn't ready to receive serve after Rosol hit an ace. Poor poor role model is Nadal.

Roger Federer - the guy is a relic happens once in tennis life time, people will start realizing this 10 may be 15 years after and how tennis missed the greatest of all time.

Milos Raonic is someone that young people can relate to and learn from. He's young, he's successfull, he's well spoken and polite & he and says that the most important thing is that he attributes his success to working hard and being focused. Of course he is lucky enough to have a very supportive family who has encouraged him in his chosen career even though they probably expected him to go to university. And he's got a huge serve and it seems that beginning players think is the most important part of the game.

certainly one of the guys that went to college. fed, nadal and many others quit school at 16 to play tennis.

worked for them but for 9 out of 10 juniors it doesn't work out. I prefer a player like blake or isner who goes to college and learns something over a guy who guy who bet everything on tennis.

Lendl, Nadal.

Hard-workers, very decent people, had the critics but proved them wrong. Earned respect through the hardest possible way.

Federer may be the bla bla swiss-bland GOAT 1 handed, rolex, wimbledon, multiple-language speaker lover, but I just don't see how he is a direct 'I want to be' role model...maybe he can be a role model if you aspire to being the next best thing since sliced bread.

Novak has been selected as the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian of the Year. So, my answer is:

Novak Djokovic

Current players: Fed by a million miles. All time? that's tough.

today's players seem to be much better role models than the guys of the past. many of them were jerks or guys with an unsolid lifestyle (lot of partying, women...). today's players seem to be rather polite and down to earth compared to guys like connors, mac or borg.

FILIP PILIWO our resident pro who answers all of our questions about being a pro & who also won 2 junior slams and was the finalist in the other 2 this year in Juniors is the perfect role model for an aspiring tennis player. And he's 18.

Kids dont need 31 or 25 year old men as role models, but they may be happy to watch them play the game that they practiced to perfect for many years on TV. And if they are interested only in how much money they make and their personal life they should give up tennis as a potention career. They need somone like Filip who talks about the hours he puts into practice and the constant travel involv ed in being a pro. And from the way he expresses himself it's clear that he also excels in school which subjects he studies as he travels or had some time off.
