V-verb, isn't that the production model of Blues Saraceno's amp? He got some great tone out of his, so if the production model is the same I bet you are in tone heaven!

Hey Ken!

Spot on! That's the Mojave Amps version of Blues' amp.

From what I gather, Blues Dad Alex licensed the amp to Mojave and then changed his mind so it was not advertised by Blues and sold only 17 or 18 of them.

The components are first rate. For example, Blues original amp used a Chinese made variac, this one uses a US Staco Variac. The quality of components and workmanship is superb, in contrast to Alex Saraceno's amps which sounded great but had that home-made look (although I would love to have one of Alex's amps).

It has perhaps the best cleans I've heard, and the dirty sounds can sustain forever if you want. A great amp!

Would love to see some of your gear - just enjoy seeing guitar gear. You're an EVH guy? Saw then in Toronto - great show. My buddy who is a Les Paul fanatic tried a recent Japan made EVH and said it was unbelievable - about $800 used - not bad!

Cheers

Folks, this thread is awesome.

I was shopping for a beginner guitar recently, and finally bought one over Thanksgiving. It is a Yamaha CG122MC, a basic cedar-top classical guitar and I am slowly learning about fingerpicking and strumming.

This guy has really nice and systematic youtube lessons for newbies, and I'm looking at them while developing the courage to shell out money for hourly one-on-one guitar lessons. The lessons that I've been looking at cost abour $45-55 per hour. Is this a reasonable price according to you guys?

I used to charge $50. I basically wanted to make around the same as playing sessions. Just matters the teacher and their resume. You want to work with someone who likes the stuff you do if possible. Just makes it more enjoyable.

Time has come to put my EB/MM Axis on the cutting board and let it go. If you guys know of anyone who'd be interested in Europe, give me a shout. Like this guitar a lot but need the money for other things. Once I sell this I will have 0 guitars, but thats the way it is. I'll get back into the game soon enough.

I played and took lessons for years,,for me a fork in the road showed up, rock or classical,, I could not get my self to buy a hand made luis echevarria guitar although I strummed a few chords with one, Segovia used this guitar and his protege Chris parkening, I got to the point I could play what I heard on the radio, however, I did not want to entertain other peeps,, just not my bag.
My instructor took a vacation from his studio and put me on the spot to give beginning to advanced lessons, they all gave such praise I thought I was a VIP, VIP I'll take that in world second, hahhahaha
Okay, when I was playing the guitar, the world was an oyster and I cracked it open several times to look yet dont touch the pearl, hahahhaha, VIP is genuine, Superstars are dime a dozen.hahhahahha, something about making pleasant sounds that gave me tremendous insight. a very good thing,,hahahhahahahahahahaha

Man, it's a shame that you're letting that go - I love EBMM guitars, but sadly, I'm neither in Europe nor in the market.

Any of you know much about resonator guitars?

Any recommendations? Ideally we're talking modern, well made and not cripplingly pricey.

I know the names National, Dobro and Regal are mentioned. Also, that for my purposes: blues and picking style - round neck wood or wood/metal is preferable.

Anyhow, I'm wanting to buy one but not quite sure which.

TIA

Hope this is not H/J, I guess this would be part of the "etc" .... after been away for around 4 year of playing bass I decided to buy a bunch of gear and started to play again, did not spent too much money though, bought a MIM Jazz Bass (... and a Les Paul Epiphone for "recording" purposes...), a BG250 TC Electronic Amp and a bunch of stuff for home recording ... and actually this is my first (home made)recording! it started as a warming up exercise and then i just added a few notes and drums and keys and here you go, I'm just starting to learn so any suggestion are welcome. Thanks!

You could also check out some Gretsch if you are in the market. My store got a couple midrange guys for midrange prices. I honestly don't know a ton about resonators, but from what I played they were nice playing. They priced from around 300-600$.
