Why, you got a guy? A radical hook up?

The only real big difference between the MP and Pro is string pattern. I don't much about string pattern...what's the big dealio?

Matter of preference.

A more open string pattern (16X19 as an example) generally provides more spin, maybe a little more power, but a less control.

A more closed string pattern (18x20) generally provides more control.

The difference between the two may not be much depending on the stick. Comes down to feel and preference.

Made the final of the AACTA tournament in men's 3.0 singles. But lost in third set tie break. I was serving at 5-4 and couldn't hold. I think I need to fit in some serve practice and drills between match play! This past year Ive gone to all Kickers all the time. Running out of gas at the end of the match, they weren't kicking too much and i had no back up serve to go to. I'm hoping this helps get me bumped up this year anyway.

Dats - I had a brief love affair with Genesis Typhoon. It just turns my racquet into a rocket launcher too fast. I'm back to the Black Magic.

Yes.

But thinking I should demo Pro since that is more open, and more open = more power.

Decisions, decisions.

the pro plays a lot heavier than the mp...1) it is heavier...but 2) it has a 330 SW vs. 320 of the MP...just something to think about...

Btw Downs, you looked really good out there today, nice win!

(I'm very glad I did not have to play you!)

thanks! that guy on your team is GOOD! he's no 4.0...not that i could talk last year...haha, but he is most DEFINITELY a 4.5...i felt a little bad hitting at that poor lady at net...but, when i didn't hit at her, he was hitting at my partner...so it was like, ok...haha, i guess it'll be like that! but both of those courts could've gone either way...

Haha yeah, so true. Actually, ask Downs - knowing him, he may just already have it!

honestly, it's not about which frames i've owned...it's about which frames i've owned 2 and 3 times....that's when you know you have a problem...

in other frame news...i got to hit with McLovin's old frame...pacific x force pro...soo money from the baseline...."accidentally" discovered it in my pile of racquets and decided to put fresh strings in it...LOVED it on the court today in practice...

Ye masters of used rackets in the TWMAC - what are used Head YOUTEK IG Speed with the 16x19 string pattern going for now days? Still like the Prestiges, but it's hard to be grooved like in the night owl days when I'm only hitting a few days a week. Thinking the speed might be a bit more forgiving.

Hit with it before - great off the ground. But seemed to plow-through on the serves.

That's backward...

Thats possible. But wouldnt hacking 1/2 inch off of a handle make it more head heavy?

I dont know enough about it. Just assuming.

Probably smart to hit all kickers. Thats pretty much what I did in most of my matches. Would just spackle a couple flat bombs in here and there to keep the dudes off balance.

I used to be able to toss my ball the same for a kicker but contort my body in a way i could flatten out and hit a bomb out wide. Then the guy never knew what was coming.

But the kickers is the way to go for the most part. Especially at 3.0 and 3.5 you will get a lot of soft returns that will let you take control of the point.

Good job on the tourney. You almost won a paperweight

wookie -- you don't need new sticks. those prestige pros are money. if i've learned anything from TW -- you need lead tape and you should chop .5 inches from the handle. you wind up with a PPP - porkchop prestige pro.

HW -- kick serves are a good way to mess up your back. listen to me now and hear me some time next week. i wanna pump. *clap* you up.

topeezy -- radical pro is strong enuff for a woman but made for a caveman. swingweight is high. weight is kinda high too. also if you don't need a newfangled new radical paintjobby -- the microgel and liquidmetal ones are super cheap.

CB -- saw your donnay on c-list for super cheap. what are you replacing it with?

i'm on week 1 with my rebel 98. so far it's a pretty strong like.

No, my giggle stick project is officially over. just trying to get rid of the racquet. I might even accept a trade for a couple of them dollar menu items at Mckey D's. Just sticking with my BB NYC's. Can't seem to get rid of these sticks. Just love my lead setup. My happy medium is alittle over 12 oz's. I have one that's 11.5 with less lead on the bridge. Plow is ridicious on this frame. Now i just need to learn how to serve. if I can't sell in a week on CL, iam putting it up on the bay.
Did i mention my string-crush setup is Hexy Fiber/RIP Control combo. Ball kicks like a mule with this setup.

nitefly and zap -- you should sign up for a 3.0 team as sandbaggers and go to nationals. don't you win a gold ball or something if you win?

what's for lunch people?

had this over the weekend. it's called bundagee. i'm sure i've mangled the spelling but it's actually really tasty.

Cool. down_chris is on the edge, about to make sweet love to his used X Force Pro, and a couple virgin ones are looking mighty tempting.

I was thinking of picking up an X Force Lite to customize, so I thought a menage a trois might be order...

TM- I saw these in the ville outside Osan. I couldn't drink enough Soju to make them look tastey.

And I did try and assemble a 3.0 Sandbagger team... There is another pretty good Sandbagger team in my county :) Zapvor... AA County too far to drive for you?

hmmm wonder which target is better for a racquet nite raid at? zap or downs?

safer bet will be downs as there is a well in zap's basement, lots of lotion has been dropped in, that you can easily fall into. it's not pretty down there.. lot of trapped cosplay freaks i hear

I don't do lead.

I was talking the IG Speed, but they had a 2nd version with 16/19 - this one: http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Head_YOUTEK_IG_Speed_16x19/descpageRCHEAD-HS16.html

Hoping the market was flooded and I could get some cheap used.

Hit Down's place.. by accident of course.

I fear what's in Zapvor's place.

Like watching a grinning yellow toothed clown dance in the middle of the street during a grey cold day ...with no music playing.

Some things are meant to be left alone.

Auzzie,

Have you tried the Youtek IG Radical OS?

I got Geoff to lead it up to specs (12.3oz??).

Like BUtta. In fact I think it plays like the Orange Donnay of old, but upgraded and more "butta" feel.
Haven't tried it. But I have my goat frame... Steam 99s. Best frame I've ever played with (and this is after 2 months now of using it). So not just a honeymoon, it's a lifetime!

His frames don't even make it to the basement. He just has his living room looking like that, except that he also has a stringer as the centrepiece of this "living room"

The stringing machine is next to the year round Christmas tree.

Holy Crap!!! auzzie with the same frames for two months? I just the quarterly reports for six different racquet manufacturers, and they were all dismal. Now I know why...

I know! He said he couldn't find a team a few years ago to save his life...I consider him a bit of a sleeper. Should have been playing with me, but The Boss didn't want to put me in because of conflict of interests! And I was fine with that...I had no desire to face you!

Nowww...on the other courts, I would have liked my chances!

2 whole months. weird part is, in the 2 months, i have never had the desire to switch... playing the best tennis i've ever played.

Sounds like what I said about the Pacifics a few months ago. Now look at me: Yonex VCORE Tour 97.

The first step is admitting you have a problem...

I dont know enough about it. Just assuming.

HW, yeah I know it seems like it would be more head heavy but it's not. Say at 27.5 inch frame has a healthy SW of 350. When you chop it, the SW will be around 320. The overall balance point, more or less, stays the same in relation to the middle of frame but the overall frame is shorter so it's easier to swing around.

It's like your baseball bat. The strong big guys swing the big lumber. The smaller, fast guys either use a shorter lighter bat (less SW) or sometimes they'll choke up on a bigger bat, which also makes the SW less too.

That's why if you want and can safely extend a 27 to 28 inch frame, your starting 27 incher has to have a super low SW (very HL), ie 290-300. So that when it's 28 inches, it'll have a "normal" manageable SW of 330 or so.

Now if you're talking about HL numbers-wise, then yes - a longer frame with similar SW will definitely have a higher HL balance number because of the extra length. Afterall, a point each way is just 1/8 of an inch...
