Which had the most influence on tennis history?
The 1995 us open final was huge, as well as the 1981 us open final. I think the 1985 us open final was also very big, as well as agassi's two final losses in 90. And the 2004 wimbledon final may have been what helped federer become the goat and ended roddick's promising career.

edit: you guys are misunderstanding. This is not about hte best matches. It's about the ones with the most long-term impact. Like aggassi's loss in 95 ruined the next few years of his career.

Wimbledon 08. Roger wins that and he is essentially Nadal on clay. We would have had the two most dominant players of all time on a single surface playing simultaneously.

but was there any real important long-term impact? Federer won wimbledon anyways the next year as well as the french open 2009 and the us open 2008. Then his decline became sharp in 2010 and nadal took over. It didn't seem to have long-term effects.

Nadal would never have beaten him on grass, therefore he would control the US and Wimbledon as his territory during his reign, making him the undisputed GOAT IMO.
Nadal would have to be equal or greater than 18 slams to beat Federer despite the H2H because grass is a more legitimate surface according to most of the media and fans.
Furthermore, it would mean he would have gone 5 sets in a slam twice with Nadal and won, probably heavily influencing his demeanour around Nadal. It wasn't until he was beaten in his own backyard did Federer really start to crack mentally.

You could argue the AO in 09 defeat was because Federer got tight and/or knew he was going to have to go to war in the 5th - which he lost half a year ago on his best surface. There is so much history around that match, I really think it is the most important to this point.

Boring, but extreme physical were 2011 USO finals and 2012 AO finals.

Wimbie 08, that was when Nadal truly became Fed's boogie man in Roger's head. That match had massive effects on many unrealised records that was to be set by Fed in the following years to come.

1980 Wimbledon finals is at the top too.

Did he beat Rafa in any of the three mentioned?
Plus, I'm sorry you can't change history, you can't just say he dropped there and Rafa came here, he already won wimbledon before the 2010

Listen to the resident tennis historian. These two stand head and shoulders above the rest. Not just in terms of the effect they had on the careers/legacies of the 4 all-time greats who played in them or even in the 2 all-time greatest tennis rivalries, but just in raising the sport itself to another level - in fans, public attention, playing level, etc. They were watershed moments in the sport and even more impressive, it was so obvious that everyone knew it at the time they happened. That's rare that you can pinpoint a moment in sports history so accurately.

Argue for the 3rd spot all you want, but I think these are bound to be the consensus #1 and #2 (argue over that order if you like).
