I enjoyed the game. It owed a lot to Nishikori though for taking the match to Nadal and dominating the baseline rAllies. In the earlier rounds it is Nadal and Federer that bring the excitement and interest.

i must say ive stopped watching the AO. bruce mcavaney is just so damn infuriating to listen to. stupid obvious statements and pathetic questions make me want to just jump off a cliff.

Feds greatest matches were all against Nadal......I don't even remember most of his slam wins except for the Last Roddick one....the rest is all a blur.

Fed philopusis ....a blur

Fed Roddick the other three ....a blur

Fed Baghdatis....a blur

Fed Murray....a blur

You need to watch Nole and Stan last night, and the 2013 AO which they also went through a 5 sets. Exciting match required two players to make it possible. Nadal and Nishikori was great, but not as exciting as Nole/Stan match.

Lmao, good one. Kinda funny you bring up the local junior tournament, I was at my club last week and we were playing on a court next to a junior tournament and I was telling my partner, why do these kids all hit lobs? Is this a lobbing tournament? No wonder younger players lack any variety these days, all they do is try to clear the net by 10 feet+

Murray vs Federer is more anticipated IMO. Nadal might just walk through Dimitrov but I expect good things from the young guy. But the Wawa-Nole match is the best of the tournament so far.

Fully with you. I was watching WTA doubles and whenever there were commercial breaks watched Kei choking the big points. Did not need to see the whole set . The last game or tiebreaker told the whole story.

Nadal and Wawrinka could be the best match. Nadal will roll over Dimitrov (yawn). Nadal could roll over Wawrinka too. Hopefully not.

Most athletic, yes! Exciting?? I felt Nishi was creating all the excitement in that match. Nadal as usual played reactionary defensive tennis and waited until his opponent makes the error or coughs up a short ball. Nishi had so many well struck balls where Nadal from 8 ft behind the baseline was able to float back. It was hard to watch Nishi putting in so much effort attacking, just to end up having another ball floating back. Nadal's defensive skills from the baseline are just too strong. But exciting to watch? I felt Nishi brought the action to Nadal more than Nadal creating the excitement in that match.

lol, best and most exciting match of the quarters will probably stillbe Djokovic vs Wawrinka, Murray vs Fed is more anticipated.

The only reason for excitement over Dimi vs Rafa is people are hoping Nads will lose.

You're appraoching the levelof obsession held by the worst fed lovers during his heyday. Nah you already past it.

Still .....was way more exciting than warwinka....more threads , more media, way more interest.

I was on the edge of my seat. I fell asleep during the warwinka joker match.....great match for sure.....but I literally fell asleep because it was on so late.

On the other I wasn't going to miss that Nadal match for anything . I forced myself to fight off sleep.

And now we get part 2..... A clash of the styles against daddy fed .....

Yup .....Nadal most exciting.

The Dimitrov/Nadal match was definitely more exciting than the Murray/Federer match. Dimitrov played a lot better than Murray, and actually Dimitrov arguably played better than Federer.
