they've been really slow this year

I saw these photos a couple days ago, I'm already using yonex however I use a really old model (rqis tour 95). I think this new design is really nice!! I think I will definetly give it a demo when they come out on the market!!i demoed the vcore 97 a few months back the 310 gram version it was a nice stick, played really well but nothing to make me wanna switch frames. Like I said this is a really sweet looking stick if it plays good I may switch, my rqis tours are getting old, I've used them for close to 5 years now.
And yes I agree yonex is really slow lately on releasing their new lines.

My hunch is that this will be essentially be a reissue of the discontinued Vcore 95D. It is widely alleged that Stan continues to play the 95D under the 97 Tour paint job; same with Hewitt. Reissuing the 95D with new cosmetics would be a smart move for Yonex.

Could be a rebirth of the RDS 002 model. The only think that leads me to that guess is the orange/black color scheme.

yonex just posted that information on Wawrinka's racket will be announced in mid January, according to their facebook page. They call it the new racket as of now. Off the subject, hope Hewitt got some bonus money from Yonex for beating Federer. Wonder how much Yonex is paying him? Can't be much based on his previous rankings.

wawrinka used the vcore 95D when he signed up to yonex. then when yonex market the vcore tour as wawrinka racket of choice. so, this is a debated either he kept the 95D under the vcore tour paintjob or actually using the vcore tour

About the actual specs of Wawrinka's racket...they are unknown. I have friends who are sponsored by Yonex here in Japan and they all get their rackets custom made, but I know one guy who gets his vcore tour 97 made at 345g base frame and it ends up at near 370 with strings and overgrip.

I overlaid the photos of the Vcore Tour 97 and Tour 97G from the Yonex site - the molds appear to be identical in all respects except for a slight difference in the shape of the notch at the top of the shaft.

Just like to post a pic from the final with his 95d. Look at the "split bumper" paint in black. Non of the new vcore tours have split bumper.

I have a new VCore Tour G here. The paint finish is satin / pearl sheen where as Stan's new paint job is high gloss. No split bumper.

Damn that paintjob is too sexy. Yonex is the only company that makes me want to buy a racket just off their paintjobs.

Awesome? Where did you get it and what is the swingweight?

I'm in Melbourne and TW Australia received some supply directly from Yonex rep a few days before Australian Open Final. Not sure about the swing weight as I have added some lead on the handle to bring it up to 350 gram and make it a bit more headlight. Hefty and nice solid feel at contact. Going to play some games with it tonight to get a better feel for it.
