We get it. You don't like the guy and however well Texas do you'll find something to moan about. On a positive note, up to #6, well done coach and team

380 of VV's 394 posts are negative. I think it's a schtik.

#6 is great indeed. MSU loses to Cal, then ND, then beats a four-man UGA team 4-3, and is ranked #11? I think the Illini would throttle that team.

I have no problem with Center's line-up. Homs had a few good matches but didn't have a good fall season. He's still unproven. Holiner and Sitaram have been clutch early in their college careers. In past, they tend to show up in bigger matches. I commend Center for trusting in his seniors and allowing them a chance to play through their slumps.

Now that they are approaching early outdoor matches, the #6 will shake it out soon as they will have a lot of matches to test out Sitaram/Holiner/Homs.

Vik - i would think u'd have more sympathy to show support for Sitaram. Sounds like Center has more support than even a relative of Sitaram.

I hate to do it again but if Center continues to refuse to play Homs at 6 then things must be blamed on him again.

We should be ranked like #7 in the newest rankings if anything lower it will be a disgrace.

Of course I support Sitaram. You guys seem to be picking fights where there aren't any to be picked. I'm not arguing here, I'm cooperating.

Is it possible/practical for someone to post link to today's LHN viewing of UT's matches against UTA and A&M-CC? I would love to be able to see that. Thanks.

Looks like they are showing the A&M CC match live at 6 and the UTA on tape delay at 9:30 - link

Horns cleaning out the bench for UT Arlington - Berkowicz, Goldhoff, Sitaram, Holiner, Homs, Lewis in singles.

Homs and Holiner had a good day. The earlier assessment on Holiner is so spot on. When he has time to get some good practice in before a match or at least a bunch of consecutive matches, he finds his groove and plays well. Will be interesting to see who take the #6 spot.

#5. Have a lot of big matches upcoming too. This is a big season for the Longhorns. I'm looking forward to seeing them against FSU in two weeks.

top5 could fall down a little bit, they ve played they best they have..oklahoma plus baylor are the circled games. the wins vs vanderbilt and georgia maybe not worth too much anymore..we will see..but great ranking so far for them!

I live in downtown Austin near the Whole Foods. If you are a fan of curry and Indian cuisine we can go to this great place Guadalupe Street called Clay Pit. Anytime you are in town just let me know.

The wins against Vandy and Georgia got them to the ranking they are at today....how does that make them worthless?

I think he means the Georgia win is less valuable now because of Georgia's plummet in the rankings. But Vandy actually went up and also that Cal win is very valuable.

FWIW -- Georgia played their final match of the ITA Championships against MSU with only 4 players.

And they still only lost 4-3. Georgia is among the 10 or 12 best teams in the country. That ranking is resultant from the mathematical calculation of the Houston tourney and Wagland's dq.

Im still curious about whether talks with verbal commit Jo Wilfried Tsonga are still going on. Heard that he was interested but was deciding whether he wanted to play the Us Open or come to Austin this fall. Hopefully Center doesn't let this deal slide. Tsonga would be a really strong addition to the Longhorn roster along with recent commit Wawrinka.

we cannot lose to TCU. They are barely ranked in the top 50!

look we need to focus on my important topics like the acquisition of Tsonga and Wawrinka. Great they beat TCU...GREAT but center needs to keep our minds on hunting for the big fish like these 2 phenomenal athletes.

I assume this nonsense is mocking my anger over Papa not coming to Texas.

I will be at the match vs Florida State tonight. I've missed seeing matches in person, seeing the good ole FSU players will bring back good memories. Texas should win fairly easily.

Blake Davis has now yelled "you are awful" to the umpire twice already 5 games in after dropping his racquet and approaching him. No penalty given though

Ump threatened to kick out any fans who taunt on court 2. Davis's fans getting personal. Center and Texas assistant personally calling fans out in the crowd.

That's the turn match too.

Match might be headed towards 4-3 for Texas, which is surprisingly good for FSU, although they won't finish all matches, I suppose. Also, recall that FSU almost won the doubles point. Not an impressive showing for Texas.

Holiner at 5 and Homs at 6 is not a lineup I recall from earlier matches. Sitaram is sitting out. How about Naumann? I guess he is usually #5 and is missing, which is keeping the match closer than it might be otherwise.

Don't agree with 4-3! Good result

Something got under Texas assistants skin. After Hons finished Goldin 10-7 in the super breaker, he yelled "what's the score??" And the Texas players watching responded with a 5-0 chant. Goldin was called "Gracie" the whole natch by Texas players. Goldin also referred to himself as too good many times. Pretty comical stuff. Always a show when FSU plays, too bad for them too much of it is non tennis related.

Naumann was sitting out as was Sitaram. Both were in the stands for the match. Holiner has lost a lot so far this year. Once Naumann returns Homs should definitely play 6 regularly.

glasspool breaking Davis to clinch

Some fine examples of Davis's poor serving today and also the Davis fans turning this match into their personal circus in this video. The cheers at the end aren't for Glasspool they are for Davis... I guess for losing in a routine fashion?

As they were leaving the courts they yelled declaring the Pennick-Allison tennis center "Blake's house". If by Blake's house they mean losing in doubles and singles, hitting 2nd serves at 70 mph and personally attacking an umpire over inconsequential line-calls while being a representative as kids from an academy he once trained at were watching, then yes it was Blake's house.

Glasspool didn't let any of this nonsense faze him. He just stepped up to the line and served well and got a fairly easy win.

Weird, I know he trained at Austin Tennis Academy and his brother went to Tech, I wonder if there is some animosity toward UT for some real or imagined slight. Also, Hultquist was an assistant at UT before the Center era and Crowell played there as well.
