Thanks Jenda. Have you heard anything about the layup of these sticks? Braided graphite/kevlar?All I am able to say is that this information originated directly from Wilson.
I never saw those posts regarding it, but i did see some posts suggesting 19mm and thought that was much thinner than Federer's frames appeared to be. To me, it always seemed as if he may have tried Tommy Haas' frames (whatever they are, cant remember), liked the general feel, and implemented a different throat (more like his Pro Staffs), PWS, and a 16x19 pattern. But since the Prestige frames that Haas uses are 21mm, 22 doesn't sound far off, all things considered.
I'd have agreed with you.
If it plays like the PS 6.1 Classic or Six-One 95, I for one won't be switching to it.A whole lot of people speculated it to be 22mm because of the prototype's similarity to the Pro Staff Classic 6.1/Six.One series. So there.

I can also verify that Wilson was the source of the information.
please tell me that your username has something to do with the racquet's paintjob
Leaving it stealth black with a little red RF signature would look awesome.

Yes, to me the racket always seemed very close to that of pt57a gsame hoop shape, same throat, same beam width and thickness) so given that the h22 is virtually the same thing (correct?) it makes perfect sense. Add the pws and you have a 97 sq. inch head size or there abouts which is at the same perfect marketing move.
Doesn't look that thick to me either. But a man who's strung it (Drakulie) says it is 22mm.
I heard $219 as a price
Yep, Wilson's H22 is their version of Head's PT57A but stiffer.
Actually the suggested retail is $250 for the RF97 and $230 for the rest.

I'm a huge Federer fan, but not certain I could take the court with a racquet that had "RF," all over it without feeling, I don't know... Odd. If it actually has his name on it that would be very odd. People will get labeled poseurs. Otherwise sounds great save the thick beam.
yea but a pt57A is not 22 mm beam, so it is a different animal
Wow, even worse. Thanks for the info.Actually the suggested retail is $250 for the RF97 and $230 for the rest.
I don't know. I don't think anyone thought anyone using a Jack Kramer Autograph was a poser.I'm a huge Federer fan, but not certain I could take the court with a racquet that had "RF," all over it without feeling, I don't know... True. All I can say is that when I played with Stepanek's Head Speed, which I am fairly certain is the same mold as Djokovic's stick which is also 22mm beam it didn't feel all that different from my pt57a. It was visibly thicker compared to my racket though.
So it carries the ProStaff name but has a round beam, not a box one?
H22 and PT57A have nothing in common. The H22 throat is different. It is a 22mm frame. It is stiffer and more powerful.
H19 is closer to the PT57A, 21mm (vs. 20), soft (even softer than the 57A), still more powerful though. Different string spacing though.
Both Wilson's are 98sq in, PT57A is a 95
my h22 has the same stiffness rating as my pt57a (both 58 flex), but I do agree the h22 feels stiffer and more powerful, also more stable.
And why don't they? Same reason that Head no longer sells the Radical or Prestige?H22=Radical
H19=Prestige MP/Pro Tour 630
Now if Wilson would only start selling the H19...
Perhaps because if they sold it, people would love it so much that they will never buy another racquet. And that would negatively impact Wilson's future sales. And why don't they? Same reason that Head no longer sells the Radical or Prestige?

That could be it. THe H22 I have is the only one I did not put on the RDC machine yet... But definitely feels (much) stiffer than the 57A (mine measured 55). My H19s measured 53 and 54 but feel considerably softer than the 55RA 57A.
PS. I am still puzzled that Federer would go from:
90 to 98 sq in
18mm to 22mm
65 stiffness to 58
racket after so many years...

I hope Wilson doesn't stop making the ProStaff 90 line though for people that prefer the smaller head and the box beam frame.

I'm happy with my trusty PS85. But I wonder if Fed's new racquet will take inspiration from it. His first slam came from this racquet no? And Edberg is the coach. Full circle.
No, neither. Federer won his first Slam with a HPS Tour 90 (or at least the paintjob of one). But it was a Tour 90 and not a PS 6.0 85.The paint job I mean.
But that was my point. If they put out too good of a racquet, customers will get off of the 2 year upgrade cycle and not buy another new racquet until their current one wears out, which could be decades. They have to stay on the 2 year cycle. It does not matter anymore if the racquet is good or bad. They will sell X amount of units in 2 years and then come out with new BS to sell.
so i saw this picture of fed Racket and it seems like to me that it looks like a flat beam!!! i remember that the the older prototype was that of a round beam it seams like they changed it to accommodate Fed
