Wilson's qc.... what a pain in the *****!
I had some time yesterday so I thought I'll give this a shot, went to 5 shops to find the perfect blade.
1st shop had a 2nd hand blade for sale but was in an L2, never mind I'll just bounce some balls just to get a feel.... somethings wrong, felt too light and flimsy. Weight as 10g lighter, more hl and had a sw like a tweener...
2nd shop, none available.
3rd shop, again only L2... why do people use such small grips only.
4th shop, now I'm starting to get a bit tired of this. Finally L3, great one is 5g heavier then specs, the other 7g lighter! I was ready to pull the trigger on the heavier sticks but I though I really need the correct specs to know how it plays in proper stock form.
5th and final store, finally a 2nd hand stick but guess what. 340g and 320 sw!
I was ready to throw in the towel at this point but I remembered that a friend of mine is a racquet junkie so perhaps he has one... a quick call.
So he does, great and it's almost close to specs, even better!
Spent the next 30 mins hitting with him in jeans and track shoes lol and guess what I like the stick, it's not as stable as the strike but overall it's a more versatile stick cos it's easier to swing with however, even strung with rpm blast that's about 2hrs old, it doesn't have the same pop or plow through.
It's a very decent stick for those who have clean strokes, it's less tiring then the PST cos of the weight but also it requires more focus cos of the head size.
Wilson finally made a 18x20 that's better then a few prestige mp in terms of how solid it feels.
Its a close call between the BT and PST but so long as wilson has such awful qc, my choice is still with the PST simply cos of how forgiving it is and how easy it is to win cheap points.
