If you like it, I am in. We have very similar tastes. Thanks for this - I never heard of it.

Just saw Rise of the Planet of the Apes. It was ok. I got pretty bummed because the opening scene had some of the worst CGI I had ever seen in the past few years, plus the character development was not good. But I made it through the movie and thought it was interesting.

I'd give it a 6/10.

It has also gotten extremely good reviews. Tell me what you think of it when you get around to it! :)

I thought Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was the better movie.

Raw Deal....underrated classic for Arnold. pure action 80s gold. They dont make them like that anymore.

after that i popped in the Running Man with Arnold. another classic. They actually do make movies like this one again but instead cast teenage female actors for the lead and give them superhuman capabilities while being 105 lbs of nothing. Then all the males are a bunch of girly men that are incompetent with a weapon in there hands....I think they called it Hungry Games LOL.

going to work out, pump some iron, and get jacked now.......I'll be back!

I thought it's called "Maze Runners".. :)

Arnold was an icon... his action movies were top of the bill. Wasn't he a Russian agent in Raw Deal?

Last movie I saw was Interstellar. Incredible movie. A "should see in cinemas" movie

Raw Deal he is a small town sherriff that goes undercover in the mafia. Red Heat he is a russian agent who teams up with Belushi to go after a drug dealer. Thats a great film too.

Interstellar was fantastic despite a clunky second act. I'd give it an 8/10. Gone Girl was dark, atmospheric and suspenseful and I'd also give it an 8/10.

My 9/10 Movies (in order) are:

Inception
The Shawshank Redemption
The Dark Knight
Schindler's List
The Godfather 1 & 2

I don't give 9/10 easily as it is the highest I will give any movie. I have seen a lot of movies.

I do not give 10/10 as that implies perfection, which is of course impossible.

The King's Speech and Interstellar are 8/10 IMO.
My 8/10 movies would be my cut-off for their being Oscar-worthy.

Watched Interstellar. Too long and with too many emotional moments to cater to the lay audience. But overall, a very thought-provoking movie about the implications of relativity and its impact on us if we ever faced them. It is sad how this movie as well as Gravity ended up relying on cliches to make them appeal to a wide audience. Between the two of them, you have: a single woman scientist who longs for family (because work is not satisfying enough for women), a dad who loves his daughter (as if he is the only one), the intelligent daughter compared to the implied stupider son (we want to encourage girls to go into science don't we), the compulsory Black man who reels off scientific facts, the guy with a foreign accent who is like the mad scientist, a Professor of Physics who has a beard, the alpha male who doesn't trust automation but switches everything to manual mode, etc. At least these days the Black guy is allowed to live till the end of the movie.

^ My cuz saw it recently and said the same thing. Full of cliches etc etc.

It is as if the movie is made in two steps: great idea and cinematography, then followed by expert consultants who decide how to introduce cliches and dumb down everything to reach the fat family munching noisily on big tubs of popcorn. Sort of like Bollywood movies would be made by first writing the "hit" songs, and then adjusting the script to give meaning to their lyrics.

I would have given the Oscar to Inception in 2010, then The King's Speech.

I thought Mctieren got robbed not getting an oscar for Predator. silvestri should have gotten best score as well....and of course arnold for best actor. no other actor could have pulled off that role better than arnold. also best casting and cinematography.

Saw Interstellar. Such a good movie...Definitely a need to see at the cinemas.

I'm about to watch it tonight. I expect it to be a great movie, yet it'll be tough to be in that league with say 2012: A Space Odyssey. Now that's a movie that goes all out, with no intention of following any set script. On a rainy day, a good movie is interesting to see at a movie theatre, instead of on a computer or TV at home.

I think you'll quite like Interstellar despite a bad 2nd act. It provides more of an emotional punch than 2001 and more techno babble if you're into that sort of thing.

The race was really between The Social Network and The King's Speech though. Inception was never going to win, just like Interstellar most likely won't win...

Which is why I don't really take the Oscars seriously any more.

If it has "Hanks" or "Weinstein" in the name, it's already been won.

Interstellar is a truly phenomenal movie. I just watched it last night and am still thinking about it. It's truly stunning and very creative! It's easily one of the best films I've ever seen. It'll win some Oscars, yet of course the Oscar for Best Film is very difficult to win. I strongly recommend it for all movie fans. You can argue that there are certain elements of the film that could have been different, yet all in all it is brilliant.

Tell me something. Remember the guy whom they revived on that other planet who turned against them? Did he again reappear in the hospital scene towards the end as a male nurse or was that someone else?

One of the best? How many does that mean? 50? 100? There is no way I'd put Interstellar(or Inception for that matter) in my top 100,I mean they're good movies but not THAT good

Stunning visuals of time travel and simulated travel through a black hole. Great movie in my book if you're interesting in what's outside our own galaxy. It's not your run of the mill film that you'll see at the movie theatre. Not everyone will like it, but I think if you really enjoy films like 2001, you should check it out. It's one of the best films I've seen in a long time. You could argue that it could have been different, I think the pluses of the movie far outweigh any negatives. It's a supreme movie effort. I think it'll be rewarded handsomely come Oscar time. It probably won't win Best Film, which is tough to predict. Yet, I think you'll see it can great popular and critical acclaim.

NO of course not. This movie is NOT a joke kind of movie. it had some parts that was PURE fantasy and made up but still they would never go that far.

Probably the most preposterous part of the movie is the part about how did the Wormhole get there ? You will understand if you see the movie but explanation is pure you know what.....

Here is the REAL deal about that black hole. Visually it was good and maybe accurate even. BUT reality is that ship CANNOT get that close and not be Torn up to pieces. Reason is Spagettification on the edge of black hole. Gravity is so much incredibly higher on the side where you are closer to the black hole so you get Stretched out and torn up LONG before you get to the black hole.................. That is the reality and movie wasn't ...........lol

That was my first thought. Yet although it may be very improbable, it cannot be ruled out Nostradamus. One theory is that one could enter a black hole and re-emerge at a distant location or another universe by going through a region inside the black hole known as a "space-time singularity."
