The Getaway is fantastic. McQueen Is my favorite actor. I had a poster of McQueen on my wall as a child. I was 4 years old when he died and I still remember my Dad telling me. One of my earliest memories. Getaway is probably my favorite McQueen film. That film is about as cool as it gets. The only thing I remember being close was Payback with Mel Gibson...my other favorite actor.

Odd Thomas - A good horror movie with elements of comedy in it. Never heard of it, before I watched it with some family. Quite surprised.

Heaven's Gate. Brilliant. If anything it needs to be longer. Add an extra hour in the right places and it could be the greatest film ever made.

The Score (2001) - DeNiro, Brando, Ed Norton. Heist movie. Interesting, taut.

Out of Africa (1985) - Streep, Redford.

Sling Blade (1996) - Billy Bob Thornton.
Enjoyed it a lot. The kid is amazing too. Reminded me a lot of Forrest Gump.

Thanks a lot, all of you who recommended it.

What you want? Best movies I 've seen: Sling Blade, Schindler's List, The Piano, & Back To The Future.

Albeit, it's been a while since I saw these movies:)

Oh, by the way, I saw The Piano a month back. Enjoyed it greatly. Holly Hunter, Sam Neill, Anna Paquin.

Men of Honor (2000)
Excellent, touching film about defeating ignorance and racism in the military. De Niro played the bigotted drill commander who wisens up perfectly.

Did you see the director's cut of Sling Blade? It's like 2 and a half hours and the only version I've seen. I wouldn't want anything cut out...

The version i saw was 2 hours 14 mins. So probably not the director's cut. I'll see that next time in a couple months, maybe.

For the past four days I've been visiting my Mom, which means lots of movies mostly on Netflix but did go to the theater for The Imitation Game, here are my reviews
The Imitation Game - 3 stars, good acting, good story, a little long but worth it.
The Good Lie- 4 stars, good movie, should have done better in the theaters ! The actors are all Sudanese refugees, amazing.
The November Man- 3 stars, classic spy/action movie, worth seeing if you like that kind of movie or if you like Pierce Brosnan being a bad ***.
The Intouchables-5 stars, what a great movie ! French film from 2011, very well done and very funny.
This is where I leave you - 2 stars, but I did enjoy it, because I like Tina Fey and Jason Bateman (outside of horrible bosses).

Saw 'the equalizer' ...pretty bad movie. It was so over the top it came off as lame. The whole movie had a "Oh, come on. " Feel to it. And it was so unoriginal and cliche'd every step of the way. Danzel in distress, corrupt cops extorting poor minorities (this one really took the cake btw...LAME-OH!!), stick-up register guy, final shootout in home depot, sh*t...it even managed to have the 'hero walking in slow motion through the rain' scene...AND IT WAS INDOORS!! the only thing that was supposed to be cool about this movie were the action scenes and u couldnt appreciate those kuz the whole thing was so dark, most of the time u couldnt see anything. 3.5/10 for me. I could go on and on with this one, but im too lazy. :-/

I watched The Dark Knight tonight for the first time since I went to see it at the cinema. Heath Ledger is so good in that film!

22 Jump Street. Some are calling it better than the first, but I don't see it; I didn't really laugh until halfway through the movie, though the second half was really funny, full of meta humor. It was at its best when it flirted with breaking the fourth wall. The credits-gag was priceless.

Just kinda sat through this French film called Sarah's Key by Gilles Paquet-Brenner broadcast on NBC. (Hard to watch a movie when you're writing yet another dissertation on aesthetics.) Was surprised that a major network would show a foreign film, though it did star Kristin Scott Thomas and this was in the wee hours of the morning.

Can't really write a synopsis for obvious reasons, but just wanted to call attention to that interesting fact. :)

Automata (2014) - quite interesting scifi movie, post-apocalyptic, superior machines ... Antonio Banderas. Panned by reviewers for being hollow and cliched.

Up in the Air (2009) - Clooney. Quite nice.
