They were nowhere as prolific as Nadal.
Oh yeah? Is that why Hewitt was touted as the next great player in Australia when he was a teenager? Even compared with ROD LAVER?

First I heard of Nadal was because he was playing a match AGAINST HEWITT. He was ALREADY 18 at the time.

Stop talking out your ass, more success doesn't mean "more prolific" especially when you're going back in time and comparing it with other teen wonders.

Yeah or you could just make it a list of 6. No need to limit it to 5 if more than 5 make the cut for being unusually prodigious in their youth. It's like looking at player of the decade and things like that. People love it, but players didn't choose when they were born. If there are 6 outstanding teenagers of the Open Era, then so be it. It must be noted however that Agassi didn't win a Slam event.
Fixed!

In the current era, Nadal is the undisputed Teenage King.

In today's day n age Zverev would have come close, but comparing him to Nadal at same age in 2005, it's like miles apart, no comparison wether it's level of play or achievement wise. Kyrgios HAD the potential, but even a 13yr old Nadal was more mature.

They may have been 'talking' about Hewitt being the next Laver, but what did he actually achieve? He isn't even an also ran in the grand scheme of things when talking about the greatest players of all time.

Are you really that dense? It isn't about what they ended up achieving, it is what the hype was at the time.

My vote goes to Borg. He edges out Nadal.

I base that on the fact that he was accomplished on two surfaces during that period. To his credit, however, Nadal made it to a Wimbledon F before turning 20, and he lost to the GOAT in his prime on grass. I think it's safe to say that pretty much anyone else would have lost to 2006 Fed on grass as well.
Borg, at the same time winning 2 french opens on clay as a teenager, also won the WCT finals at 19 on fast indoor carpet at the time the WCT finals was regarded as a major (case in point- entry to the Pepsi grand slam of Jan 1977 was based on winners at us open, Wimbledon, french open and wct finals from 1976)

In fairness, though, (1) he beat three players whose best surface was clay (Dibbs, Solomon, and Vilas) to win that WCT title; and (2) that WCT field had players with these year-end rankings in 1975: #2 (Vilas), #3 (Borg), #4 (Ashe), #13 (Ramirez), #17 (Solomon), #18 (Dibbs), and outside the top 20 (Stockton and Lutz). Borg beat Solomon, Dibbs, and Vilas to take the title. A nice win, for sure, but that field didn't have 9 of the top 12 players from 1975, and two of Borg's wins came against players outside the top 16 (at the end of 1975, anyway; I'm not sure what they were ranked in May 1976).

I never really considered Wilander before but i must admit he's quite impressive. He won the AO beating MacEnroe in semi and Lendl in final, a truly great performance. It's also worth mentioning that he was a finalist in RG in 83. He also won Cincinnati twice (83 and 84), the second time just when he turned 20. According to Sureshs, that should count as at least 3,5 slams as a teenager
