Djokovic ties Federer on 310 Weeks at No. 1 in FedEx ATP Rankings

Could surpass Fed by an eternity too.

Medvedev has shown he can put very long streaks together including dominance over top-ten opposition but still can't get over the line in the Slams, and he is already 25 and probably close to his peak. He's one potential general threat to Djokovic's #1 status, but it's hard to see him getting too much in the way without actually bagging Slams. Maybe just a bit in the way, and snatching the #1 ranking for a short time.

So that leaves Nadal as the main roadblock to Djokovic for #1 ranking stats. He might be able to bag YE#1 again this year or next because of his absurd clay hauls when he dominates that season, which is most years.

I don't see why Djokovic won't reach 397+ weeks.
Med’s challenge is it’s hard to pick up points when you can’t win a match on clay (and very few on grass).

It is not Djokers fault. He cant help that he gained all his weeks in the weakest era of all time.
I have never actually looked too hard into Djokovics resume outside slam count. But the threads by his fanatics this last week has led me to look more closely at when he has racked up his numbers and frankly he is not as great as i thought he was. Look carefully and the vast majority of his majors are when Federer was old and Nadal injured or out of form (2015-2016). 2011 was his only actually truly great year.
You are spot on.

Amazing movie!One of my favorites.

Yes machan absolutely. For some reason, I never thought it was a great movie so didn't bother to watch it all these years until a couple of weeks ago and got blown away. Amazing movie indeed! (y)

Djoker had 4 slam wins by the age of 23 and 6 slam appearances. Thiem is almost 28 and Med is 25 and they have combined for a half a slam title.

No one else is even threatening winning a slam...
So? He also wins 9 slams after turning 27 - players enter primes later nowadays. I don’t see you screaming like a desperate housewife when Fed won everything during 2003-2007. Hypocrite.

Sorry but if your slams come after the big 3 are 34/35/40, you did not pass them, they just got old.

Djoker has never beat a great player younger than him. It is not like Djoker is 26, he is 33. Even if not ATG's, great players should have arisen who are in their late twenties.

Well tennis doesn’t care about your feelings or arbitrary age cutoff
He just did one week ago.
No, but stats dont lie. Med is not a great player. 2 slam appearances at the age of 25 and nothing to show for it. Highest ranking of 3, and never reached the second round at FO or the fourth at WC. Good player, but not great, and definately not near ATG status potential.

Well now the weeks at No. 1 record is done and dusted and Djokovic looks well on his way to 350 weeks!

Next up, the slams record. I want one of Nadal or Djokovic (or both if they can manage it!) to get to 25 slams! Personally I'll be satisfied with 21 but again the argument that they didn't raise the bar high enough. For that reason, I want one of them to get 25 slams please.

This year golden GS and there you have 21. All done in 2021

Stan at the AO 13 and FO 15 was legit ATG level.

So while Djokovic never faced younger ATGs, he faced an anomaly such as the peak Oldrinka.
