    Head Tour Xtra Long

That's not the radical tour I was talking about. I referred to the original with the same paint job as the PT and XL but in yellow/black. The Liquidmetal plays nothing like the other two IMO.

    Head Tour Xtra Long

It's not a hair longer. It's full inch longer... I had three that I played with for a long time. I switched back and forth between the Xtra Longs and PT630's but ended up with the PT's as the XL was a little unwieldy playing doubles. Loved it from the back court though. I reduced mine...

    Becker 11 Mid Review

Peter - your experiences with the BB11 Mid very closely mirror mine but I'm planning on sticking with it a bit longer. One question - if you are in the US, where are you sourcing the AK90? I tried the standard version and liked it but the SW was just a bit too high. I have family in Japan...

Davydenko switched to Ozone PRO TOUR?

His brother Edouard does it for him. When I bought the left over Coria racquets from ****, I asked about the Davydenko spec frames (very different from Coria spec) and he said that Edouard sets up his racquets and frequently changes them from match to match based on whatever.

    Prince Recoil.. initial thoughts

With the gut in the mains, I didn't have much difference in power or spin. I was mainly sound and ball-feel. I string pretty low which might also be a factor. I'm guessing that if the Recoil & SPPP had been in the mains, there would be a much more noticeable difference.

    Prince Recoil.. initial thoughts

Same here. I liked everything but the price. In my personal racquets (open pattern), I've been combining gut mains and SPPP Pure crosses. I restrung one with gut mains and Recoil crosses to compare. In a hybrid, the Recoil felt significantly softer, still low powered, no string movement. I...

    Star 5 were to buy?

That's too bad. When I bought my Star5 I called up Ken one morning and it was literally on my doorstep two days later... He always seemed like a great guy on the phone.

Becker B11 Mid vs Redondo 93 vs TF 335 vs C10 Pro

C10 Pro felt the softest by a noticeable amount. I know that's contrary to the stiffness ratings but that was definitely how it felt to me. My wife hit them both and said the same thing. She also preferred the B11mid (she normally plays the Radical Pro). Heavier ball is tough to answer...

Becker B11 Mid vs Redondo 93 vs TF 335 vs C10 Pro

Redondo serves great, very solid on the flat one down the middle and the very headlight balance make it easy to kick. Not as easy to generate pace as the BB11 mid but I couldn't tell much if any difference in spin despite the difference of the string patterns. One thing - the big sound of the...

Becker B11 Mid vs Redondo 93 vs TF 335 vs C10 Pro

You've heard from the guys with real skills in the other thread, so here's the middle aged hacker's report...;-) I have been demoing the new B11 mid against the Redondo Mid, new C10, and Tecnifibre TF-335 (18x20). I previously tried the MG Prestige Mid as I'm a big Head fan but didn't care...

2008 PLO Women's finalist racquet specs

It's only 2gr difference in mass from TW and USRSA. That's about half a percent and could be explained away by how the grips were wrapped, type of string, etc. Look at the flex. Her stick is a completely different layup than the standard model. They concentrated more mass in the head while...

    2 different microgel prestige pros

Same thing happened to my wife with a nearly new MG Radical Pro. It was the buttcap. It had cracked a bit at one of the staples. Replaced the buttcap and all was well. Like the previous poster suggested, pull of the grip and checkout he buttcap.

2008 PLO Women's finalist racquet specs

    You're backwards. 34cm is almost even balance. Length = 27" * 2.54 = 68.6cm even balance = 34.3cm

    Prince Recoil. Initial impressions.

Yep, add the requisite creaky elbow and that's me... I've got a couple set on backorder. Primarily interested in hybrid with the aforementioned Tonic+ but will also try as a full set.

    specs head pro tour 630

Skip 9T, 8H, 10H. Same on most of the head MP's with an 18x20 pattern. Works well with gut or a lively multi in my opinion.

Anyone think the kBlade will do good this year?

    1) Look at the string pattern of a K-Blade Tour 2) Look at the string pattern of Djokovic's current racquet 3) Look at the string pattern of Djokovic's nBlade PJ 4) Look at the string pattern of anything out of the Head PT630 mold It should then be pretty clear what Wilson has done...

    Wilson K-Pro Tour Mini Review

I hit with one today and didn't find it stiff at all. It was very comfortable with a nice feel, very head light and nowhere near as powerful as a PD. We put it on a RDX machine and it came in at a flex of 61. It was strung with Wilson natural gut crosses and Lux ALU mains which was nice but...

    Pronated Feet

If your feet are really flat and you are a sever over-pronator, your best bet is to see a sports/running oriented podiatrist and get custom insoles to correct the problem. The guy I saw did slo-mo video of my gait. They cast my feet and then made the insoles from the casts. Health insurance...

    Evolution of Head Radical

I picked up a Radical Trisys 260 MP off the auction site the other day, strung it up with a soft multi and used it in my USTA mixed match tonight. I had never even swung it before warmups. Probably not the smartest thing to do but... That's one fine racquet! We won in straights and the...

Why Is 27 Inch the Standard Length for Tennis Racquets?

I think it's nonsensical to say ALL players of any type should do anything. Tennis strokes are too individual. There are a reasonable number of well-known ATP pros using 28" racquets and they all seem to have two-handers: Nalbandian, Ferrer, Ferrero, Coria, etc. Of course, there are obvious...

    I-Formation

We use it a lot in mixed. It can be very good at taking away the 'safe' crosscourt block return and make the returner focus on the net player instead of hitting the ball. The caveat is that the serve has to be strong enough to prevent the returner consistently ripping it down the alley. If...

    RDS 003: Questions about length?

It's mostly in the handle. The RQiS Tour 1 also has a long handle even though it's standard length. I didn't really notice the extra length of the 003, it's only 1/4 inch. If you want something low powered and flexy like the RDX500, look at the RQiS Tour 1. However, if as stated in the...

Please help i damaged my racket i got for christmas

The grommet/bumper is specific to the racquet or sometimes series of racquets. They are very inexpensive, about $5, but can only be replaced when restringing. No - you can't use the same strings, you'll need to pay for new ones when you get your racquet restrung. If the damage isn't bad...

Relative Power - Yonex RDS003 vs RQiS 2 vs RQS11

I'd be interested in input from people who have spent time with all three of these frames as the relative power between them. The wife (currently using MG Radical Pro) had all three for demo and I gave them a try as well. In terms of power I was expecting: RQiS 2 - most powerful RQS 11 -...

    Too heavy or too weak?

Total and utter non sequitur, I dig my racquets the most, enough to buy all 7 of the only ones available so as not worry about racquets in the now, short or long term. If you're referrring to to the one I bought based on NBM's review, nope again. It was the Becker 11 which I think is an...

    Too heavy or too weak?

LOL... another failed strawman diversion. You said: "people should not choose racquets based upon how they wish they might play later on...they should choose based upon how they play NOW" I interpreted it as: "I think I would disagree with NBM's position on choosing a racquet for the short...
