20' enough for mains on MG Prestige MP?

I just bought my son two of these raquets and I bought some big Ace for the mains. I just read the Head site where it says on their stringing instructions that you need 21' for the mains on this racquet. Have any of you strung the prestige MP from a reel and how many feet did you cut off? I would like to get two jobs from one packet of 40'. I know Head has some errors on it's web site for stringing instructions. Any replies appreciated.

To follow up--what about 20' for mains on the MG Prestige Pro with 16*19 pattern? I would assume there may be a diff b/w 18*20 MP and 16*19? Thanks--

I just strung a MG Radical MP for a friend with 21' of mains. I found that I had a lot left over after the mains were done. This was with Topspin Cyberflash 17.

I think 20' will be plenty for a Prestige MP, considering it's the same headsize as the Radical MP.

I measured out 20' from the pack and there was plenty to tie off but just enough to pull that last main. I was stringing on a Neos.

Depends on your machine. If you have a crank(like erbogast's Neos), you can put the string gripper right up next to the frame. On a dropweight, you may have some problems since you need more string to reach the gripper. With a Wise tension head, you can move it close enough to be right up next to the frame also, then just move it back to turn the racket to the other side.

Also depends on the string. 20 ft of kevlar? i'd be very cautious... dont think it would make it. Poly? probably depend on what kind... syn gut and multi should make it easily.

to a certain extent it depends on tension as well....

and also what steve said.

when this happened when i had my dropweight i saved some old string, put it through my starting clamp, wrapped the spare string around the dropweight drum, then pulled as normal. god, i love my starting clamp

It depends on the distance of the tension head, availability of a starting clamp, and how adequate the stringer is at measuring.

I use 21' for the mains on mid/mid+ 18x20 racquets. Otherwise, you won't have the length to reach the tensioner.

You can use 20' and do 2 racquets... but you'll have to use a starting clamp and an extra piece of string to reach the tensioner.

** But, as others have stated... it really depends on how close the tensioner is to the racquet head. My post would apply to most dropweight machines.

Really really sorry to go completely off topic. ryohazuki222, you seem to be the only person here I've seen who uses the Slazenger Pro X1's, how do they play? I've heard they are a classic, so I bought a lot of two from the bay, to try out.
