Despite the packed field for the ATP500 Basel Open, there is actually another tournament playing in Valencia.
Seeds are; Ferrer, Lopez, Tomic, Fognini, Paire, Garcia Lopez, Bautista Agut and Chardy.
Top 4 seeds have received a bye.
Kokkinakis, Rajeev Ram, Mischa Zverev playing qualies.
Some interesting unseeded players include; Kyrgios, Pospisil, Cuevas, Almagro, Johnson and Verdasco.
Defending champ was Murray but he's not playing this week.

Tough draws for the top 2 seeds. Looks like Ferrer will face Kyrgios in the 2nd round and Lopez might face Steve Johnson who has reached his first final in Vienna.

Well, this tournament got overshadowed by Basel and Singapore, and the weaker field was exacerbated by all of the top four seeds, and six of the eight seeds, going out before the quarter-finals.

Still, well done Joao Sousa. After five straight losses in finals since his lone tour title, he finally claims a second. And he beat five opponents in a row who were ranked higher than him!
