Djoker did let a couple balls go past him that surprised Roger. No surprise as such that there was some confusion, but small things like that were enough to decide this match. It was really close though, but Djokerer just couldn't really get many chances on return games. They got zero breaks of serve in the match. Zero mini breaks in the match tie-break.

Their 1st serve percentage must have been in the 70-75% range with 125-130+ bombs, and then Roger's serve percentage went down in the 2nd. Sock/Anderson played a really great return game to break Roger in the 2nd though.

Yeah Diego had 2 MPs against Goffin.Sock played terrible TB.The only match where you had convincing win was Dimitrov -Tiafoe. Proud of my fellow countryman.

It's bittersweet for me bc I wanted Djokerer to win. But that would make it 4-0 TeamEurope and this LaverCup would've been much less exciting. At least with 3-1, TeamWorld has a decent chance with the scoring system for tomorrow.

It was tight but they were clearly better in the tiebreak and it felt like Roger was bossing them at net more often than not. I thought Sockerson stepped it up in the 2nd.

Pretty obvious team world will put up Kyrgios, Isner, and Anderson in the singles. Sock again in the doubles with Isner seems likely. Repeat again Sunday with Sock/Kyrgios doubles. Put Isner v Zverev Sunday. Kyrgios v Djoko? Anderson v Fed. If they lose their mind put Schwartzman against Zedrot.

I can see why you'd think that. But team world only needs the first win tomorrow, and the score would be 3-3 (2pts per win tomorrow). TW still have Isner/Anderson/Kyrgios vs TE's Federer/Djokovic/Zverev. TeamEurope is fav over TeamWorld, but not by much. With Sock for dubs, and now AndersonGOAT, TW is fav for doubles tomorrow. It's not as easy as it may seem.

TeamEurope needs a minimum of 2 wins tomorrow, otherwise, LC18 is 50/50.

well TBH, Novak was not at his best with his ROS but still 7/10 overall.

OTOH, Roger was comfortably 8/10 in the first set, 5/10 in the 2nd and 2/10 in the third.

Right. But didn't you say JMac picked Isner to go first on Saturday? I would switch out to let Kyrgios go first on Saturday.

Edit: If I was captain, I want Kyrgios to go first on Saturday bc I think he has the best shot to win the opening match, thus getting the score to 3-3. Isner has a lower chance against Djokererev, but he's been having a good year, and especially with that serve, he's not hopeless.

I see your point. Kyrgios should have gone first, not 2nd. Don't think its a big deal.
