2020 Laver Cup host city?

So the Laver Cup next year will be hosted by Geneva, Switzerland. But assuming that the event survives past that, which non-European city do you think should host it in 2020?

These are my personal thoughts:
- It obviously can't be played in the States again because Chicago is hosting it this time around
- It should be played in a city that does not normally host a significant ATP tournament
- It should be played in a country that is likely to have at least one member from Team World being a native of that country
- And it should be played in a part of the world that has a thirst for world-class tennis and considerable financial resources to back that up

So, my top 3 choices would be:
1) Buenos Aires, Argentina (Then Delpo might finally show up for Team World)
2) Sydney, Australia (Kyrgios is already the default leader of Team World so I think he would really relish playing this role in his home country. And Aussie fans would sure get behind him and the whole team I believe in this kind of format)
3) Seoul, South Korea (Assuming Chung Hyeon picks up his game in the next year or so, he would be a great hometown representative for Team World in Korea. Korean fans adore him and they would come out in droves to see him. And I think there's a bigger thirst for and interest in tennis in Korea than most people would assume)

But wouldn't most players already be on their way to Asia anyway for this part of the season? That's why I thought Seoul might be a perfect fit. I see your point though. Argentina and Australia are probably too big of an ask for most players. But there is a lot of money at stake, so it might be worth the trouble to some.

He did do an exo with Del Po in 2012 in South America. Played in Brazil in an exo there too.

Denver. Yes, I'm saying that because I live here, but I think it would be a great location. Rod Laver won the first Denver open in '72, which ended in '82, I imagine a lot of the top players have never been here so it's a new market to tap into and it would be fun to watch the players struggle with the altitude

In my opinion, it should be some of the cities in Australia - Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth. Laver is 80 years old and will not be here forever. Since he is Australian and the event is named after him, it should be held in Australia.

Good point about Laver. The tournament really should be hosted in his home country of Australia as soon as possible then. Of the cities you mentioned, I think it should definitely be in Sydney though. Brisbane, Perth, and Melbourne all host annual tennis events. So giving it to Sydney I think would make the most sense.

It has to be somewhere easy to travel to for the majority of the players, somewhere with great facilities and a citizenry with purchasing power.

The more posts I read here and the more I think about it, Sydney makes the most sense to me as the next logical host. For the following reasons:

- Home country of Rod Laver (and Nick Kyrgios to boot)
- Tennis/sports loving nation
- Citizenry with purchasing power
- Sponsor-friendly economy/climate
- Not too geographically inconvenient for players as it's not too far away from Asia where this part of the tour is taking place (and in the same general time zone at least)
- City with world class sports facilities (I'm assuming because it hosted the summer Olympics in 2000)
- Doesn't have an annual ATP event, so it "deserves" exposure to world-class tennis

I think Canada (i.e. Vancouver) might be the ideal choice for 2022. Shapo and Felix should both be in full swing by then. The city has great facilities and a wealthy population. And being close to the States, a lot of Americans living on the west coast could easily attend as well.

But I don't think it should host the event in 2020 because I think it needs to be somewhere outside of North America in order to more firmly establish the "World" aspect of the event.

Laver Cup should probably take a year off in 2020 because of the Olympic year. Players will be way to tired to play! Come back strong in 2021! That's when we will see if Laver Cup can survive because Roger won't be playing in 2021 and I don't see Rafa, Nole or Andy competing either. We will know a lot about this event in 2021! Regardless though if it survives or not we got to see some epic tennis last year, this year and I can't imagine how epic it will be in Geneva, Switzerland next year! That's going to be something to see as well!
