In the nadal match he was blasting shots even better than
Wawrinka.

So, the one win over Nadal, and all of a sudden HE'S now the best ball striker on tour... okay.

It was a good win though ill give you that. Talk about the biggest mental midget coming through in that last set against the toughest mentality in tennis there has ever been.

A lot of people have thought Almagro was a great ball striker, even before today. The fact that he's only 6'0" is even more impressive.

Almagro has an excellent technique and incredible power. He knows this, I suppose that's why he mentions it in every interview he's in xD

One match and everyone goes ape s***, kids these days...

Well in all defense, it was Almagro against Nadal on clay at a tournament he has dominated since 2003.

Not to mention he has never beaten him in the past 10 attempts, and Almagro has a way of choking these matches, which made it even more cool.

what does "best ballstriker" even mean? Commentators used to say the same thing about Lindsay Davenport. And they say it in golf all the time. Handicapping a major, I hear golf analysts say that X Player is probably the best ball striker, thus he's a contender. X player never wins.

Almagro mentally doesn't have it. that is why he has never won a masters or been to the semis of major.
even today, he wanted to choke it away but Rafa choked first

No, Almagro is certainly not the best ball striker on tour. If hitting winners left and right (ignoring all the errors he amassed) for one match makes you the best ball striker on tour, then Rosol already has that title.

ahahahhahhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

You people are insane. When all the dust settles, kiddies, it will be Nole and Rafa going toe to toe down to the wire for YE #1. Stan and Amalgro will be somewhere back in the pack as they always are.

Yes he can pack a punch from his BH wing, esp CC, FH's quite powerful too. Nico's always been entertaining, too bad he has sh1t for brains or else he'd have won far more on clay.

Lol he beat Nadal once and all of a sudden he is the best ballstriker on tour.

The best ballstriker is clearly Fed with Djokovic being the close second.

Historically yes, as of 2014, I'd say in terms of ballstriking, Nole and Stan have been the standouts.

Gut feeling tells me you're wrong on this count. As in, very wrong. We'll see. ;)

As for Almagro, his best claim to fame is probably that he's a great candidate for choking GOAT. But best ballstriker on tour? Not even close.

48 Unforced errors does not make him the best ballstriker in my book
