Well the 2nd semifinal of Cincinnati is set. Davydenko had been shockingly sluggish much of the summer (remember summer like most parts of the season starts right away for this player, just piling on the tournaments), until a respectable performance in Canada, which maybe got him back on track as he has shown his best form in quite awhile here in Cincinnati. Coming off a superb performance against Ferrer, preceded by an excellent one vs Berdych, he now takes on Blake.
Blake has been looking to salvage a dissapointing year with a strong hard court season. He has done pretty well his first couple events, but still suffered dissapointing losses, the finals of Los Angeles to Stepanek, and the quarters of Washington to Querrey. He avenged that loss to Querrey in the previous round, taking 3 sets to show his class to the young American.
I personally think Davydenko has the edge after his performance tonight, but still a very close call for me.
