Mentally crushed? Is this a chess match or some hypnosis to crush him mentally ??? LOL

You lot need to understand BIG 3 exists because the Old man is at a disadvantage and the field is levelled.....

If the 5 years and 6 years age gap removed then it will be swift death for djokodal in 2010s decade

Federer's insane talent would bury them both.... tutions from boris also wont be of much use

Sorry but Roger can play with all his brilliance and elegant style all he wants but when push comes to shove both Novak and Rafa are mentally tougher and as i said Rafa basically owned peak Fed between 2008-2011, back when Fed was in his late 20's and peak physical condition.

I think Australia gets new KFC stuff years late but I just had one of our “new” Zinger Pizza Doubles and it was stone cold spectacular. I’m trying to move through the anger and grief stages now so that I can have an appropriately lean vegan Monday morning (our time difference to Flushing Sunday) when I have to accept the Final Solution watching the scores at work.

I don't do these often but take it in. Idk why I wasted my time knowing the match script, but after dinner my roommate and I watched Djokotini. It sucked the life out of both of us though the screen lol. Anyway ill repeat what I said to him during the match, and that's that Novak doesn't give you ANYTHING. Besides Nadal on clay, I've never seen it be so ridiculously hard to beat someone no matter how good or bad they were playing. We all know how i feel about Novak, and yes a lot of it is bc he's my favourite's biggest rival. MAYBE id like him if it isn't for Nadal but idk. Long story short i just want to say no matter how weak I think the tour is now (and its def dead)..... Novak is just ridiculous. It doesn't matter how well you play, he will make adjustments, weather the storm, crank the angles harder, outlast you, serve better..... Just WHATEVER it takes to win. It's boring for me to watch just being honest, but don't think I don't realize or see his greatness. It's really quite ridiculous tbh. He's maybe more unbeatable than ever in slams  idk, im sipping a glass of wine, this is as nice as I can say it :D just please let him be done soon so Dibaego and Calfslan can win something

Why was he so pissed at the end of the match? He was killing Berrentini but he acted like he overcame some huge obstacle. Someone in the crowd yelled during his serve causing him to pause and put up his hands. He then hit one of berrentini misses into the umpire chair nearly taking out a ball boy. After the match he didn’t do his signature hands extending from the heart to the crowd celebration. Finally, he cut his interview with Patrick McEnroe short and just walked off. Great role model.

2005 - Safin - Nadal - Roddick - Hewitt - [Nalbandian] - Roddick is Rank 1
This is an okay list, but I'd give AO 2004 to Hewitt or... possibly... Nalbandian rather than Safin. Marat was completely gassed in the final after facing a draw from Satan's domain in the top half. I think if Hewitt or Nalbandian brought a decent level - and they did against Fed - Safin would go down without too much trouble. I also think 2004 US Open would go to Agassi. Perhaps Hewitt wouldn't play that badly if it was anyone else but Fed, but Agassi really did play a pretty good match and I think that should he reach the final, I would favor him over Hewitt.

And I'd give Hewitt Wimbledon 2005 but it's close. I feel he played the better match against Fed than Roddick did, but he wound up in Fed's half of the draw.

Lastly, I think I'd give Agassi the 2003 YEC. He actually didn't play badly at all in the final, but Fed played a good contender for his best hard court match ever that day. I never watched the Roddick-Federer semifinal, though, so maybe I'm underrating Andy a bit.

2006 - Baggy - Nadal - Nadal - Roddick - [Blake] - Nadal is Rank 1
2007 - Roddick - Nadal - Nadal - Roddick - [Ferrer] - Nadal is Rank 1
2008 - Djokovic - Nadal - Nadal- Djokovic - [Davydenko] - Nadal is Rank 1
For one, I think Davydenko probably wins AO 2006 rather than Baghdatis. Again, Marcos was a bit tired in the final because his draw was pretty tough too. After a well-fought first two sets, he pretty much collapsed. Davydenko I feel could sustain that kind of level for longer, provided he doesn't choke of course. Other than that, this list is perfectly fine, with the caveat that the 2006 YEC would probably be Nadal's best shot at winning the tournament in this scenario. He played pretty well in the semis against Fed, I think.

2009 - Nadal - Soderling - Roddick - Federer - [Federer] - Nadal is Rank 1
Okay so this lines up with Fed's 2003 season right? In that case, I'd give Fed Wimbledon in a heartbeat. It was his absolute best performance at Wimbledon imo, and I don't think 2009 Roddick had it in him to take that version of Roger down. I mean, he did lose to a weaker (but still good) version, after all. I would also have Delpo keep his US Open title because it feels a bit of a stretch to turn Fed's loss to Nalbandian in the fourth round into a win against a superior opponent.

2010 - Federer - Nadal - Federer - Federer - [Federer] - Federer is Ranked 1
2011 - Djokovic - Nadal - Federer - Djokovic - [Federer] - Djokovic is Ranked 1
No problems here. Both US Opens would be super close, though, and I could see a scenario where 2005 Fed beats 2011 Djokovic there.

2012 - Djokovic - Nadal - Federer - Federer - [Federer] - Federer is Ranked 1
2013 - Federer - Djokovic - Federer - Federer - [Federer] - Federer is Ranked 1
2014 - Federer - Nadal - Federer- Federer - [Djokovic] -Federer is Ranked 1
How does Djokovic win RG 2013 when he lost in the real match he played against Nadal there (and their ages haven't been changed - it's only Fed)? I also think handing 2008 monoFed the 2014 AO is a bit of a stretch, but okay then.

2015 - Djokovic - Federer - Djokovic - Djokovic - [Djokovic] - Djokovic is Ranked 1
2016 - Djokovic - Djokovic - Federer - Federer -[Federer] - Federer is Ranked 1
There's a lot that hinges on whether 2009 Fed could beat 2015 Stan. I think he could given the very high level he brought into the 2009 RG SF-F. While Djokovic put in a bit of a deflated performance in the 2015 final, Fed played possibly the best match he's ever played on clay (or at least a contender because he's got a few others under his belt). Plus, Stan matches up way better against Djokovic than Federer anyway. I would put it at 60-40 Fed but there's upset potential here and if that does happen, it could cost Fed a career Slam.

On to 2016: I wouldn't just automatically give 2010 Fed Wimbledon and the US Open, he was a bit terrible in both events. Maybe he could win the US Open because that tournament really didn't feature a high level of play from... anyone, but I think Murray could take him down at Wimbledon if he plays as poorly as he did against Falla and Berdych.

2017 - Federer - Nadal - Federer - Federer -[Federer] - Federer is Ranked 1
2018 - Federer - Nadal - Federer - Djokovic -[Federer] - Federer is Ranked 1
This is 2011/2012 Fed, right? This does make sense then. I would probably back 2011 AO Fed against the 2017 AO field - even Nadal. And I do think he had it in him to win Wimbledon and the US Open in 2017. Remember, both tournaments were really weak in terms of competition, and Fed was quite good at both events (he actually played well in the Tsonga loss: this wasn't another edition of the Berdych nonsense from 2010). Ditto for 2012. The main argument there is 2012 Fed vs. 2018 Djokovic at Wimbledon because both were solid. I mean, I'd pick Fed but it could swing the other way.

2019 - Djokovic - Nadal - Federer - Nadal -[Stefanos] - Nadal is Ranked 1
2020 - Djokovic - Nadal - None - Federer -[Federer] - Federer is Ranked 1
2021 - Djokovic - Djokovic - Federer - Federer -[Federer] - Federer is Ranked 1
Let's not make any calls on this US Open yet. The semis and the finals haven't been played. There's still a (slim) chance someone could throw in a GOATing performance and mess things up, but as things stand, it is looking like 2015 Fed would be favored here. We should also hold off on the ATP Finals.

But that's not even the most egregious mistake here. What's up with having 2013 Fed winning 2019 Wimbledon when he lost in the first round to Stakhovsky?

And as bad as the 2020 US Open final was, I'm not sure if I'd favor 2014 Fed against that group. I mean, he was pretty trash in the match against Cilic...

No one... and I repeat, NO ONE has the physical and/or mental ability to sustain high levels of play over the course of a 5-set match against Novak. Zverev will lose and it doesn't matter whether it's FAA or Medvedev in the final, the Djoker's on a mission. Good for him though... same as you, my disdain/dislike for him is in big part due to him being Nadal's biggest rival and still believe he's exploiting an extremely weak era of tennis, but so what... he's fought for it tooth and nail and deserves this slam. I've said my piece.

Imagine being the heavyweight champion of the world, two matches away from a calendar year grand slam, and puffing your chest out about "pretty decent" support.

LOL
For whatever reason, you expected the crowds at the USO to be hostile towards Djokovic. That hasn't really happened. Some normal cheering for the underdogs and locals, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Not exactly a high bar, but he's probably seeing more support this year than he has in ages in Flushing Meadows

I gave these a bit on guesses as well.

Yes you are right about 2004 Safin, it was a wicked draw for him, Todd Martin-Blake-Roddick-Agassi and then Fed, in place of that Nalby too might have some chances of winning :D USO04 is 50-50 between him and Hewitt, Hewitt has the chances to take W2005 but in this scenario I thought in the absence of Fed if Roddick is a 2 time defending champ having won 03 and 04 then his confidence might be more in final vs Hewitt, might win for a 3rd straight time....

Agassi takes TMC, agreed, 09 wimbie too Fed shall take, right. 2011 USO also u r right, Fed shall win it.

2013 FO I gave to Novak assuming with Fed (of 2007) there would maybe cause Novak to pull a win in some way, remember I have 2011FO win to Nadal as well but we know in realtime Nadal was not confident of beating Novak, so an exta slam for Nadal and 1 cut here, something like that would happen in real life too, nobody wins a lot on trot, evens out.

Agreed to your rest of the points, but I think 2013 Fed might take those slams in 2019 because USO2020 was basically a chokefest, plus the Fed we know in 2013 had competition from Djokodal and his mindset was different, this one in 2019 would be filled with confidence, there is a chance we might a different Fed because 1 year later we saw Fed reach the final in 2014 and 1 year before we saw him win it in 2012, so who knows, injury patterns, confidence levels might vary :p All this is just best guess only, made this list just for fun :D :D

Good point.
The dynamics change entirely if ages r same or 1 less, the footspeed and energy levels all become in same range, it would become tougher to chase the backhand and the better player outside clay will prevail.

He's not in GOAT contention until he wins Olympic Gold, imho.

He still has a potential chance in Paris 2024 (and that's not too far away), but the jury is still out on how he can handle matches of great importance.
This is the stupidest argument I've ever seen on this website.

And also I want to say I do think Nadal on clay and peak Fed both displayed higher levels of tennis. However its harder to win that last point and actually put Djokovic away bc mentally he just doesn't give af if its MP or not. And he has the stamina to always believe the match is his.
Bulldust.

Just become a fan already. It will save you the therapy sessions.

Because he is the Boss, and THE GOAT. That's why.

If you want role models, go to a church of your choice.

Novak doesn't give you ANYTHING.
Quality is defined by volatility. Djokovic may be, technically, the player with the highest quality ever. He doesn't deviate from his ridiculously unreachable norm. Insane. I would cheer for him if he was more of a global personality. IMO his positions ("Kosovo is Serbia", antivaxxer) make him more of a local hero and not my cup of tea. But as a player I absolutely enjoy to see how he destroys his rivals, point by point.

Totally agree. I don't like him at all either. But I have the same feeling, I haven't ever seen anyone as tough to beat at slams except prime Nadal at RG. It's crazy and quite incredible what he's managed to achieve.

The fact that you literally know a guy that's 10 years younger has zero chance to beat him while up a set says it all.

But if Fed was born in 1887, Richard Sears would have still won the first 7 U.S. Opens.

No one... and I repeat, NO ONE has the physical and/or mental ability to sustain high levels of play over the course of a 5-set match against Novak.

AMG is better

It would be the classic battle of the s/v offense of Pete vs the baseline defender Djoker--Pete would cover the net like a condor. Roger didn't start s/v'ing until later in his career and hired Edberg to coach him--it was a little to late. Pete vs Djoker would've made for a great spectacle.

If Roger would have kept his pre 2004 game, he probably would have seen alot more success against Djokovic based on the constricting nature of his game at the time. IMO. While its more prone to error, its a more problematic style for Nole to endure I think. Heck Berretini could do fine against Djoker IF he did something with the BH once in a while and his movement wasn't such garbage. I mean he takes 1-2 sets off Djoker every time they play and he makes Roddick look nimble out there. LOL
