American Players-Hard Courts

Is it fair to say that American Players are now referred to as "Hard-Court" Specialists. All there is in America are hard courts. I dont see any americans in the near future having a shot at winning the french open. The power game is rising rapidly for american players. I see a lot of americans doing big things on hard court majors in the next 10 years. If America wants to do well on grass and clay--we need to open up more facilities that allow and maintain these surfaces-otherwise tennis will not be as competitive with other countries.

Americans can do well on other surfaces but most arent willing to put the effort. Look at Roddick. no effort into the clay season or fitness before this year. now, he tries and gets his best result before losing to a very good clay courter. Americans can also do well on grass if they speed the surface back up. Most have big serves and forehands. If the juniors can development good net games they can do well there
