Hey Grant, how come andy uses the tonic gut in the mains and durable hurricane in the crosses? doesn't a hybrid job usually use the durable string in the mains and playable one in the crosses? This seems like he would break the string just as fast as if it were all gut. I guess it'd be a bit cheeper using hurricane, but obviously that's not an issue for Andy.

Why does Andy need to use Hurricane mains for durability? He has 10 racquets in his bag, and gut mains has better playability. And it has enough durability to last him a match, and then he gets them restrung again (all of them). And the Hurricane is blue, its a new colour that Babolat are bringing out soon.

Maybe he just likes the stiff firm feel of the poly in the mains.

i never saw blue hurricane strings, its not even on the tenniswarehouse shop

The blue hurricane strings are coming out to the public next year. I think they're also having them in red, not sure about this though. Andy doesn't play with the pro hurricane for durability, he likes the feel like PCMD said. There's an increasing number of players on the tour that have a poly main and nat gut crosses.
