Another compare racquets thread. Sorry!

Can anyone compare a prestige mid to a pog mid? Any of the prestges will do as they play very similar to me. (except for the lm maybe but that's beside the point). Is it fair to say that a POG is like a prestige with an open string pattern?

First of all I know there have been several threads on this exact topic.
Second if you would have read those you could have made this thread more specific and thus more useful. ie what prestige do you want to compare to the POG? If all the prestiges feel similiar to you, do yourself a big favor and go with the POG if those are your only two choices. No, you can't say that the POG is a prestige with a more open pattern. They play quite differently from each other. In general the POG is far more comfortable. The prestige is more demanding and rewarding. However both rackets are excellent for control. For me the POG was a little too spin friendly.

Actually no, there arn't many threads on this subject. I did do a search. And the prestige racquets do feel similar to each other. That's the whole point of having a "line" of racquets. I've been using prestige sticks for the last 7 years and was just wondering about trying something else that will give me more spin without sacrificing feel and control.

Instead of making annoying comets about "doing myself a big favour" you could maybe contribute something more specific to this thread thus making it more useful. Otherwise your input is not appreciated. Please do not try to "assist" me in my choices again.

the POG plays different than the prestige, the crossbar makes it stiffer and therefore less control oriented and the prestige is heavier with a tighter string pattern. i have hit with every model of the prestiges (owned the i's and the LM's) and find the flxpt to be the best, but that's beside the point. i now play with the hotmelt 200g's, their kind of similar, less power. anyways......the ncode six-one 95 will give you better spin if you go with the 16x18. also the prostaff 6.1 classics. it's hard to find a control stick with and open stringbed but these two play well and are a little more similar to the prestiges. bottom line though, it's gonna be hard to find anything that plays like a prestige without sacrificing power or control.

Thanks, I figured it will be hard to switch to anything else from my prestiges... I figured I'd give the POG a try, after all it was the first racquet I ever used, just for fun. If I don't like them I'll just go back to the prestige line.

Can anyone compare the two on serve? Which one gives you more power? Which one is more accurate?

I certainly don't make any "comets" and since you obviously can't read -feel free to assist yourself with the rest of your questions

the pog mid was too stiff for me; i could get hellacious spin though but it was just too harsh for me. the prestige has a heftier feel to it and although i don't get the hellacious spin that i got with the pog mid, i get enough spin and the ball has a flatter arc to it. also, the prestige isn't as harsh as the pog mid. if the pog mid was a little more flexy, i could add lead to the 3/9/handle and the pog could hit a heavy ball with good spin.

Thanks guys. I decided to give the POG mid a try anyway. I'll hold on to my i.prestiges (do not like the lms) and just go back if I do not like the POGs. Maybe I'll consider getting the fxp version. We'll see. Maybe I'll post some comments later.

HB, have you tried the Prestige Classics? I used to own the iPres (mid and mp) and I thought the mid was a bit too stiff for me while the mp was a little more manageable but still gave me shoulder pain every so often. with the Prestige Classic I don't get those shoulder pains. I also had the LM Pres MP and currently have the FXP Pres MP and the FXP Pres is somewhat stiff like the iPres but not too noodley in teh head like the LM Pres was.

prestige classic rules. I use a ve 10 mid but my favorite racket is still prestige classic mid. I thought the pog mid was ok but it felt way to harsh for me. The strings move around alot. If nothing else the movement of the strings distracted me. I know it may be in my head but when strings move to much I get the feeling that consistency is off.
