Anyone else want to see a Djoko-erer match at Wimbledon.

Last meeting between the two was Aussie Open 2016, so nearly 3 years ago. One of the most interesting dynamics of any match up, like watching the greatest ever playing a machine designed not to miss. Fascinating clash of styles and personality. Been too long since these two faced off, who else believe Wimbledon should deliver it to us?

With Djokovic on the comeback trail, it could make for an intriguing encountre.

Yeah, I think it's just matter of him "catching fire" again. That can happen anywhere at any time. Things can suddenly click into place, and he is back being a contender again.

Plus I think Novak has a mental edge over Roger, causing Rog to choke in several close matches between the two over the years. If they were to meet, I believe it would be anything but straight forward.

Didn't Djokovic just lose to some Italian guy nobody had ever heard of? Some guy who'd never won any Slam matches prior to RG?

Not with a powder puff forehand and that strange, loopy backhand I saw him employing at RG(seriously, what the hell was that all about?!). He's also clearly lost at least half a step and his serve is a shadow of its former self. But apart from all that.....;)

It was really opportunistic of Federer to avoid Nadal on clay for the past two seasons, and to lose to DelPo in NY :p

What you should care about is forward progress. Nadal from 2015-2017 saw linear progression and improvement like Nole recently. Rome was not built in a day. Novak is young and fit enough to win more slams - anyone who thinks otherwise is crazy. It may not happen, but silly to write him off.

Djokovic got to Federer at USO 07, 08 and 09 when Federer was still prime, even in 10 when Djokovic was in even worse form than Federer that year. Djokovic also played Federer at AO 07.

At Wimbledon Djokovc failed in 08 and 09, but was waiting for him 10 despite them both being in poor form.

Djokovic must have got his form back. You can tell without watching.

Dj 11 is back. And he is normal - means everything going to be normal soon

As a Nadal fan, I really don't hope so lol, but the pain of 2015-2016 is all too fresh for me to be stupid enough to write off Nole.

He lost a SF at RG to Checchinato and couldn't even push it into the fifth set, so I think he is far from his best. Moreover, in order to beat an in-form Federer on grass, many aspects of his game have to be on (serving, returning, ground game and, most importantly, his mental strength) and he's, imo, nowhere near that level.

I don't think you can just catch fire anywhere at anytime at this age when he's still struggling physically on the court against lesser players. Going to take a hell of a lot more for Djokovic to really be a contender.

You think Djokovic has lost a step. That's strange, of all the aspects of Novaks game that has taken a hit, he movement doesn't seem to be one of them as far as I can see. He is still moving as well as he ever has, which at 31 is an serious accomplishment. Proves he has good genes.

Nope, he's definitely lost it mate. He wouldn't have needed to hit that awful looking defensive backhand if he hadn't. Not that it's surprising of course given his age and all the mileage on his body.

He could still pull a Pete Sampras and win another slam. Given the landscape of the tennis environment at the moment that's entirely possible.

I also think it'd be a birth of a new career for Novak unlike Pete.

Federer is in form on grass? How do we know this? He has lost sets to nobodies in Stuttgart...
