Are there videos of him training in the past few weeks or months?
I already posted this recent interview in Federer News on October 3 which answers your questions. He's planning on coming back at the AO and will be in Dubai starting in early November for his training block.
THE INTERVIEW WITH ROGER FEDERER!
"There will be no more surgery"
Roger Federer takes time for his sponsors during his convalescence. And talks about comeback timing, family planning and travel projects in the interview.
After two knee operations in the spring, Federer has reached for the racket again, but will not get into the tournament routine before the Australian Open in January. The disagreements among the top players triggered by Novak Djokovic and the chaos of the tournament caused by the coronavirus also concern the most successful player in history during his unusually long stay in Switzerland.
Roger, how do you cope with life in these Corona times during your tournament break?
With a lot of patience, discipline and above all with a lot of common sense.
The virus won't upset you, but your knee will. How is your fitness?
I'm on the right track, I'm gradually coming back, but don't put any pressure on myself and take my time. I will only challenge in tournaments when I am one hundred percent fit. It currently looks like I can make my comeback at the Australian Open in January.
Can you train fully again?
Not yet, more than two hours with the racket are not possible at the moment. But I've been working on my stamina and strength absolutely painlessly for a while. There will be no further operations.
Novak Djokovic should keep you on your toes with his antics such as the Adriatic Tour or the disqualification in New York. When was the last time you spoke to him?
About two months ago. But it was only about how and when it starts again in tennis and how the corona measures can be implemented at the tournaments. We're both on the tour's ten-member council. There is a lot at stake, the survival of tournaments and the survival of professionals who keep their expenses.
Are you currently thinking more and more about how things should continue after your sporting career?
These thoughts have been occupying me specifically for about five years. But as long as I have fun and it's right for all of us, I'll keep going. After that, I will focus on my family, my foundation and my sponsors. I am very interested in business ideas and entrepreneurship. But I definitely don't want to plan everything now.
Not even the family? Or is your planning completed there?
(Laughs heartily.) Good question! I will be happy to forward them. It is certainly a good thing if you ask again every few years.
All the traveling will come to an end - or will you continue to feel like it?
Certainly! I want to go back to many places where I've been. I like to travel to Asia and South America. I liked Mexico, Chile, and Colombia too. I can imagine taking part in exhibition matches, taking tennis to places where this sport is still little noticed.
