Apparently Rafa is trying very hard to prove his capably outside of Roland Garros, but

he is likely to be worn out by the Russian, losing in the Final and then hurting his bigger plan of evening/exceeding 20...

Cuz that's what happened last time and Sheet hasn't spent more time on court or played 24 matches in a month

I just don't see it, but I guess I'll watch the match tomorrow to find out how it happens. What exactly are the tactics medvedev will use to beat nadal?

Nadal isn't the clutch player he once was, not outside of clay.

We can only hope! I've been beggin' for someone to win a major outside the Big 3! This is our best chance with Fedovic out and a fairly hot TOP 5 player going against Rafa in the final tomorrow! This won't be a cakewalk regardless unless Daniil just drops in his tracks from exhaustion after playing so many matches in the last month!

Medvedev match up better with Djokovic than Nadal.
The intensity of the Spaniard is too much for the Russian newbie.
Bull knows he has 2 years left at a high level before it is too late.
And he knows that Shaggy won't be able to play more than 3 hours at the concentration level that world number 2 always imposes.
He is going to swim tomorrow in unknown waters.

I think Daniil'll know he needs to stay close to that baseline and attack the net more than ever so Rafa doesn't run him to death! He got a taste just last month in Canada so if his tennis IQ holds up, he should figure out what to do and not go out there aimlessly flailing about like some players in this position! The serve will be key with him needing some freebies he got out of Nole in Cincy!

That title is funny considering his win percentage on hard is better than it is on clay this year.

Nadal had an uncharacteristic average spring and summer on clay; barely eeked out Masters final over Nole in Rome before winning again in Paris! I thought Nole's ranking was safe after that, but it's going to go down to the wire it seems with his early loss trying to defend! He has tons of points to defend and if that arm is in a sling, Rafa will finish #1 helping Roger out in that department anyway! :sneaky:

he's 23. if he loses it won't be from fatigue. nadal won canada, cincy and USO in 2013. same number of matches as Med and med is only 23.

He bageled and breadsticked Djokovic. That Rome tournament was a pretty nice performance from Nadal overall. Handed out five bagels and three breadsticks.

2nd serve aces and underhand serves ;)

Seriously, Nadal stands farther back than anyone how come only Fed goes to net on him? I have no bias but just seems so unusual how uncomfortable PROFESSIONALS are at the net

Problem for him is his transition game into net is kinda bad and his volleys are probably worse.
