How many of you guys are flat-footed? i myself am flat-footet. every time i play for about 30min, my foot pain is the first thing that runs out on me, or run/jog for the first 8 min. it sux. my only way of fixing this was when i weared my brother's expensive running shoes. those shoes really have the curve on them to support my feet. now after wearing them, it feels like my feet doesn't bother me at all. played for 3 hours still no bothering pain. i ran/jog for 35min still not too much pain. now my first thing to run out is my muscles. i know being flat-footed doesn't effect much in tennis than badminton but i'm just curious how many of you are flat-footed.

Yes I am. Being flat-footed effects my footwork in tennis. My feet just keep getting in the way of each other but maybe it's just because I'm badly coordinated.

i dont know what kind of arches i have, all i know is that i need arches ion my shoes, toherwise the next day i can barely walk
arch support inserts or shoes with arch support helped me with this

I have pretty big arches, but I always run on the insides of my feet and get blisters. I even have a blood blister on the bottom inside of my foot right now.

I fail to see how flat-footed-ness could possibly affect movement. Sounds like an excuse for poor footwork to me.

-look into custom orthotics if your flat feet are bothering you that much.

im flat footed on one foot, and high arched on the other. The flat foot is about half an inch longer than my other foot however that leg in about an inch shorter than the arched one

I'm flat footed. To my understanding, it's pretty severe. In Korea, all men have to serve in the military unless your feet are really flat. ANd my doc said my feet are past that point. But having flat feet really hasn't affected me too much. I mean, it hurts every now and then when I'm not warmed up, and my feet get pretty beat up after long days of tennis. But my coach says I have really good footwork and I'm faster than most people in my grade.

But yeah, it looks pretty nasty, and if I could have normal feet, I'd love having em. When I walk barefoot on hardwood floors, my feet make plunging noises. Lol

having a good arch supports your spinal cord, which helps a lot. if your flat foot and faster than non flat footed people then obviously you trained more than them. or maybe you may not be flat footed and not know it ;-)
