Are you getting bored of Konta and her Process?!

She focuses on the process as opposed to?

As opposed to the ambition or the hopes. Instead of dreaming about how great it would be to win Wimbledon, for example, she says she just concentrates on the work necessary to get her to that point.

Doesn't every half decent professional do that??

I don't know, but the point is that Konta gives this response when she is asked a question about how she feels about her career path. If you don't like predictable answers about "process," blame reporters who ask banal questions about feelings.

Ohhhhhhhh, okay, I get what you mean. Kind of machine like. :p Thanks.

Tomic is the hero tennis deserves, but not the one it needs right now.

I reckon there's a whole bunch of players in the WTA top 50 who could learn a thing or two from Konta's approach. She's meticulously built up her game and has a studious attitude towards self-improvement.

She's one of the few players who you can say is maximising their potential on a consistent basis. I wish there were more Jo Kontas in the WTA to be honest. Too many of them seem to have no clear direction and just hope for the best each tournament.

What is your problem? She puts in the harfd work.

I'm tired of the antics and time wasting tactics by players like Nadal much more.

I'm bored of tennis media asking the same dumb, boring questions over and over for the last 10 years. Honestly I wish John McEnroe would do the interviews.

Getting tired of hearing her talk about it in every interview. Yes we get it, she focuses on the process, now ask her something else interviewer.

i havent watched women tennis in long time, except when serena plays grand slams finals

Leave Kontabot alone.

She has a plan, sticks to it, and it works. There are so many flaky players on the WTA Tour that it's actually quite refreshing to see someone different.

Hard work and consistency wins for sure, but I think most peeps prefer to root for someone who oozes talent, takes a few risks and comes off as more free-flowing

Enter Jo-bot™

For those that say her approach is great, the WTA needs more of it, etc., imagine a world where draws were filllllllled with Jo-bots

I'd quicker use my eyeballs for lollipops

Don't get me wrong, I mightn't admire her extreme meticulousness but I wouldn't mind seeing her grab a Wimbledon 'cause she probably deserves one.

But just one...with the condition that she gets no number 1 spot or periods of domination, otherwise juniors might get the wrong idea and start trying to replicate her 'process' (aaaaaargh!!!)

Not good for the game at all

If anythin, just do a Bartoli and spare us :p

Her ball bouunce is almost at djokervic annoyance level.

Is that preventing you from watching their matches? Has it ever--in tennis history--ever prevented anyone from watching a match. If the answer is "no", then the time one takes bouncing the ball can be ignored.

When I read the thread title I thought "the process" was referring to her slow, deliberate and obnoxious ball bouncing technique, but it looks like we're rightfully venting about that anyway, because it's damn annoying, even more so than NoleBounce™ in my opinion.

It's amazing how some people allow little things to annoy them so much. It's almost OCD-like; the inability to just accept not everything is done the exact same way.

The moment someone does something a little bid different: PANIC! I can't handle it! It's winding me up! I can't even look at it! It's obnoxious!

This place is like an exaggerated soap opera at times.

She should take it to the next level and start meta-processing: focusing on the process of focusing on the process. Good things will happen.
I-Is that a real quote in your sig?

It's a true honour to be able to hear her speak, she always has to play incredibly hard out there, creating her opportunities & is always very fortunate to come through a tough match & there are never any easy matches out there.

It's not as irritating as Nadal's 'nose, ear, nose, ear' routine.

The pride of Hungary.

With an unfathomably posh English accent. I've never worked that one out.

She lost any Hungarian pride two generations ago. I never heard her speak and thought she had a cockney Aussie accent, so it's English? She'd sound sophisticated to an American's ears.
