arm pain with APD 2013

so i wanted a bigger frame and switched from yonex 89tour to APD 2013.
After about 2 months of use, i have developed a pretty bad elbow and shoulder pain.
I don't know if i am trying to put more spin on the ball to compensate for the lighter and more powerful racquet or is it just the racquet.

Anyone out there feeling pain with the APD 2013 too?

My wrist hurts after I play with the APD 2013. I've tried almost everything... currently awaiting delivery of a couple sets of Dunlop Hexy Fiber 17 to try out. It's a soft multi, I'm hoping that softens the stringbed enough for me to keep using it.

Yes, Felt the stiffness and pain in the wrist within just 5 minutes.
Liked the racquet, it doesnt like me. Will change up the string approach/tension to see what that will do...

Yeah Babolats are pretty stiff, what string did you use at what tension?

I fitted a Wilson shockshield grip and am playing a full bed of poly at 40lb.

Great comfort - and I have a history of TE

You'll find that many forum member also experience pain with this frame.

The type of stroke needed with the APD is very different than your Yonex. Yes, you have to brush up a great deal to keep the ball in the court and that's what the frame is designed for. That type of spin is very addictive and what happened to me was that I focused so much on spin production that I started to miss driving through the ball. Also, while a lighter frame is easier to initially get going, the lack of weight becomes a liability when you're countering pace. Maybe it might be worth while to find a frame that's more in the middle, spec wise. Your body is telling you to ditch it.... Good luck.

I did. Moved from the 2013 APD to Volkl Organix V1 MP. Arm pain gone.

I moved on from an IGPMP to this guy's APD:). Currently strung with the old MSV Focus Hex at 57lbs. Had some arm issues earlier, but I think it was due to something else, as I don't have them anymore.

The focus hex is also probably pretty dead too. But then again i'm probably different, have never really had any arm problems before. Poor friend of mine had arm issues with IGPMP with x1 at 50lbs.

Maybe some people just have ridiculous arms:)

if you play with poly and above 50 it will kill your arm, I use babolat adicction 16 at 54 and its not that hard on the arm.

If the '13 is anything like the GT, stringing with a 17 or 18 gauge will help you remain in the 50s with a poly. I found RPM Blast 18, at 57/54, as being pretty easy on the arm on the GT.

If you like Babolat and are worried about your arm I would try the Babolat Pure Storm. The Babolat Aeropro Drive 2013 is a very stiff racquet and eventually would give most players arm trouble.
