Clinching #1 in Basel over Neiminen has nothing to do with winning three of the four slams and a handful of Master's series events.....

I think it's good that clinching came in Basel.....more satisfaction that it was solidified on his home turf.

From what I read, he is pointing out what "Federer haters" are saying to discredit Federer. He is not making any of those claims himself....(at least from what is written in that article)

The article was obviously tongue-in-cheek and made use of various cliches that are floating around tennis these days (like how weak the competition is), but I have to say that I'm sometimes disappointed by Peter Bodo. I think he should slow down, write a little less, and focus on quality. Sometimes he does great stuff, but that was pointless, humorless fluff.

maybe he's ironical ?... that's more probable... but even in this case, the poor guy isn't even so funny.
30 years following tennis for these poor comments ?...... that is a big accomplishment.

First failure: Bodo's attempt at wit, creating a pretty stupid column that reeks of last minute haste.

Second failure: Half the people in this thread couldnt even pick up Bodo's intentions which were made clear in the very beginning as Phil stated.
