I think this injury is big enough to hinder Roddick's movement but small enough to let him keep playing, maybe it's the only motivation for aggressive play?

Andy can show what a great warrior is by going the distance tonight, through pain and adversery and hostile crowds.

Though, like Pat McEnroe notes, it's more about whether Andy should continue, considering how much more damage he'd do to himself and how many more tournaments he might miss as a result. His season, in other words.

If Roddick continues to play w/this injury, Hewitt will continue to make him run side to side and make that pulled hamstring feel worse.

As an Aussie, I too feel for Andy.. But in saying that. Lleyton has had his fair share of injuries.... So I guess Andy needs to man up.. And he will!

andy is playing pretty smart now though. remember like 3 years ago in ... wimbledon?.. andy got injured and then played real smart for 3 sets and won? or was it the us open? and everyone was saying saying he needs to play like that more often.

Andy is manning up as much as he can, but if he can't play, he can't play. That would be another chance for Hewitt though, playing Raonic next would be an interesting challenge

You can actually see Roddick's talent in hitting the ball a lot better when he can't just play his pushertennis from the back but has to improvise. He's a great player.

It's a little depressing thinking that this may be the last time we see these two against each other in a slam.

It's also a little depressing that this is one of the few matchups where trolls aren't interested in the thread and you can actually TALK TENNIS.

I'll always remember a match he had with Nadal, who took the first set in a storm. Roddick was playing baseline rallies and losing big. Then in the next set, he started making a clear switch to serve and volley, took Rafa by surprise and won the match! Andy is a very smart player.

Roddick has always been a gusty guy. Despite what he says at times, and coming off as brash, he's one of the most determined and gutsiest players out there. I love his approach.

^^ well, this match DID start at 4:30am in the States, lol, and probably some other odd hours elsewhere. Trolls apparently sleep, thank God.

I like Monfils but come on now. Seriously though, you can't go from 2-6 down to 6-0 now can you just for the sake of pleasing the fans some what. Got the shots, not the head.
