Australian Open: Federer's most consistent Slam?

Although Federer has won more titles at Wimbledon (7) and at the US Open (5) compared to his 4 titles at Melbourne Park, the Australian Open is paradoxically his most consistent Slam in terms of his results there over the last decade.

Unlike any of the other 3 Slams, Federer has never failed to make the semi-finals at the Aussie Open since he first became a Grand Slam champion back in 2003. 2014 was his 11th semi-final in a row in Melbourne!

What is it about the Australian Open that so suits Federer's game and enabled him to be more consistent there than at the Slams where he has actually won more titles?

Thanks for any thoughts.

That definitely plays a role. Also, in recent years the ROS has been a major problem of consistency which can kill you at Wimbledon particularly.

Federer always seems refreshed and ready to start the new season without the problems of the last, his mentality is very underrated.

Federer is the AO GOAT. The surface suites him against the more lowly ranked players, they can't blow him off the court.

And yet he has won fewer titles there than at Wimbledon or the US Open where he has been markedly less consistent in getting to semis!

Seems like a curious paradox!

Part of it is injuries. He was injured in 2010 and 2013 Wimbledon. Otherwise his consistency would there would be equally astonishing. Of course Tsonga played an amazing match in 2011 Wimbledon.
