Babolat Racquets at US Open

Saw a lot of bumblebee Babolat racquets at the US Open today. Looked Like Jack Sock had an Aerostorm or an AeroDrive. Anyone know what he's using and what the other players today were using. It would be nice to see more AeroStorms being used.

How about Steve Johnson? Saw him play Bogomolov Jr. today. Didn't look like an Aeropro Drive. I'm just hoping that some pros are actually using the Aerostorm instead of the billy club Aeropro Drive. I love my Aerostorm Tour GT. I switched from a Prince POG to the Aerostorm and haven't looked back. Would just like to know what pros are using the Aerostorm too.

I added lead at 10 and 2 and 4 six inch strips on the handle with silicone injected in the buttcap. Absolute dream stick. Balls are heavy and the off center hits arent as jarring on the arm. Now if we can just convert the rest of the Nadal followers.

Ditto that... Tried the Aerostrom Tour GT against the Pure Storm, Pure Storm Tour and the APD and it was no comparison: I love the Aerostorm Tour GT... Was alot better racquet than the pure storms... I'm surprised more pros dont play with it.

I thought Jack Sock was using the Regular Aerostorm and Johnson the Tour? I wonder what string Johnson is using as well.

Great stick, the ASTour. I also wonder why so many great players go with the APDrive rather than this jewel.

A tennis friend of mine who travels to France got to hit with a former touring pro Guy Forget. Forget LOVES the AeroStorm Tour and has turned quite a few of his buds on to AeroStorm Tour. It's the modern version of a player's frame, blending the solid feel with some tech, too.

I'm a thin-beam PS Ltd guy, but I just love the ASTour's additional feel from the open pattern and the additional power from the baseline. I also flirt with the Pure Storm Tour, which I figured was the same thing only less aero....but it's somehow more powerful and stable on off-center hits.

The difference for me is the power and spin I can generate from the Aeropro drive with the lighter weight.

The APD is more open as well. I used the pure storm tour for a while and loved it, but I win more with the APD.

Johnson looks like he had lead at 3 and 9 on his AST by the way.

Paintjob

Now if Babolat would just paint the Aerostorm to give the racquet its own identity, it just looks too much like that ******* APD.

It used to be red, white and black like the Storms.

I actually prefer this look.
All black with some yellow would look good, like the old APD.

But if they had to give it its own thing, red, yellow and blue are taken. Maybe charcoal and green? Navy and yellow? Black and white. Silver and navy.

Nice story but I wonder why then Guy plays with Aeropro Drive?
Think Guy was talking about APD not AST and it got lost in translation ;)

Have to agree that the photos...that sure looks like the APD. I don't think I need to point this out, but it is actually the older PJ on the APD too before they even turned the AST yellow.

But I also have to agree that the AST is a really nice stick.

Yes, that is the APD, but I have a feeling that is back when the AST was red...and he switched this past spring. That's purely conjecture on my part....from my friend who was there on business and during RG.

It could've been lost in transatlanticlation as my friend might have just assumed my yellow ASTs were APDs, but I also recall seeing a shot of Forget with the thinner beamed yellow stick at an indoor event this past spring.

Either way, allez babolat.

how is the mass in the head of the astgt compare to the pstgt? is the racket supposed to be whipped like the apdgt? I ask this because I hit very flat with moderate spin. People claim the apdgt is similar to the pdgt but it felt really unstable. the pdgt defenitely has more mass in the head. I like hitting with my pstgt's but wish it was a little stiffer hence why im looking at the astgt

you will love the asgt. The frame is stiffer than the the psgt slightly but definitely doesn't feel like it. Both frames strung at 58lbs with pro hurricane the asgt felt much better on the arm than the psgt. Now both of these frames were the heavier tour versions. The asgt just felt easier to swing with more pop than the psgt. Definitely a heavier ball and easier server. The asgt offered a lil more power off the ground which some may not like compared to the psgt. The asgt is definitely no adgt or pdgt. It is a modern players racquet.
