Best hardcourt season in history of Open Era?

I'd pick Federer in 2006 for sure.

Won: Doha, Australian Open, Indian Wells, Miami, Canada Masters, US Open, Japan Open, Madrid Masters, Basel and TMC. Total record on HC was 61-2.

I'd challenge anyone to name a better HC season then that.

You're obviously a Federer '06 fanboy.

Federer '04 on hard court is the true king. Look at his performances in the two hard court slams that year as well as TMC. '06 Federer has nothing on that.

Fed 06 won 1 more HC Masters then 04. Also 06 TMC had to beat Nadal in the semis which is a huge plus. Also 06 US Open run was more dominant then 04, not 5-setters played!

These are some off the top of my head:

Federer '05
Federer '06
Agassi '95
Federer '04
Sampras '94

I'm sure Lendl, Connors, and Mcenroe had some great ones as well.

Fed is the greatest hardcourter of all time, plus the 2nd greatest grasscourter and 3rd greatest claycourter(behind Nadal and Borg). Amazing GOAT.
